Anthony Morris explains how God gives Decrees to man! New video edit.
by Wasanelder Once ini took the most recent video on "obey" and edited it down to its core.
here tony explains that the decisions of the faithful slave are arrived at "collectively" but are not a "collection" of man made decisions.
it would be comical if it weren't so sad.. tony video.

What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?
by Funchback inthere were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

I was catching up for dinner with a sister I thought was a good friend. Back then, I used to constantly change my hair style & colour. Nothing too drastic & no different to the many other jw females we both knew. She sat there and gave me a long lecture about how my hair is very worldly cause the cut was the latest fashion & the colour was not natural... Blah blah blah... I said to her: 'You dont have to like my hair, in fact, I don't care what you think about it. But it's not your place to judge me. And what about those 'sisters' with dark hair that colour it blonde? That's not natural - so according to you, that would make them worldly'. You guessed it, her natural colour was brown & she colours it white blonde. Then I picked up my bag, walked out of the restaurant & left her to pay the bill....
A few months later, she sent me a long email trying to suck up to me, telling me what she's been up to & asking me how I've been. My response: I'm doing really well, bye...

My uncle made a similar comment about the so-called 'end of this system'. He used to be a hard-core strict elder for over 40 years so I was surprised when I heard him say 'if the end comes'.... He is in his 80's, in bad health and thought he would be living in paradise by now... -

I almost gave up today except for a girl her tried to throw herself infront of two cars.............
by umbertoecho inthis may sound insane but i literally have blood on my hands as i have just come home from a counselling session that went wrong...i wanted to collate all that has happened and record it...hospital policy is against it.
i said "what am i alive for then if not to tell the truth" she tut tutted and i walked out sadly in despair.. when i got to the ground floor there was a young girl screaming her head off.
she was afraid, that is all she was...........afraid.

Pioneering
by Sabin ini`ve heard many pioneers claim that they are deserving of material things because they are the ones who make all the sacrifices.
one claimed that jehovah had made sure that she got absolutely everything she wanted right down to shelfs so she could put up pic`s of her family because, to quote "we are so deserving, we`ve made the sacrifice".
mind you this is the same sister who told me "it`s harder for me having my son d.fs than for a mother loosing her child in death".

I remember going out socially with pioneers for dinner who wouldn't order anything, and would sit there looking at everyone eating, with that sad look on their face just waiting for someone to offer them some of their food. I'm normally quite generous in this area with those I consider genuine friends, but I never once offered to share my meal with these free loading pioneers. So many times I felt like saying 'go get yourself a full time job or stay at home if u can't afford to go out for a meal"... -

A Judicial experience.
by John Aquila inwhen i was an elder in the 80s, a 16 year old baptized jw girl had confessed that at school during lunch a boy kissed her and touched her privates over her dress.
the circuit overseer was in town and we told him of the situation and he called the society and then told us that mother said we were not allowed to conduct the funeral in the kingdom hall or anywhere else with the threat of removing us and being dealt with judicially if we disobeyed.
the mother who is about 79 years old comes once a year to talk to my mom about the situation.

Has the Great Witness Trolley/Cart campaign produced ANY results?
by freddo ini live between two cities that are big enough to have their own metropolitan trolley cart arrangements organised at circuit level.
the 3 congregations at the hall i attend have trolley schedule noticeboards.
i see trolleys in the high streets and markets locally.

While on holidays I saw them in a very busy market. Many locals & tourists there. One of my friends spoke with them & they only had 2 people approach them - one was studying with the jw's, the other was a jw tourist. And the market was about to close...

The congregation mum goes to is apparently bursting at the seams. However, I hear that this is the acception as most have very low attendance...
