My partner and I have not yet gone to any competitions but we will be probably this summer in Dallas. I hope an impromptu Apostfest I hope will take place.

i have been doing it myself for over 8 years now and love it.

Did you ever get put on the spot?
by Soledad inby that i mean from the platform at the kingdumb hall?
i remember some study conductors who had the habit of calling on people in the audience that seemed distracted or unprepared--on purpose so as to embarass them.
some were so out of it when the mic was handed to them they had to ask what was the question, why did you call on me i didnt have my hand up, etc.

One time before field service. I was not in a very good mood this particular morning and he was asking questions from the Daily text. When he asked the first question everyones hand went up but mine. He stared at me, ignoring the rest, and waited I kid you not about 3 minutes. When he realized that I was not going to raise my hand to comment he called on me. My comment was "I didnt raise my hand".
He looked shocked that I would dare not answer the question. I had a great rest of the day.

"Demonized" Catholic
by finnrot ini work the night shift in the silicon valley (60 miles south of san francisco) and as i took mission college blvd.
offramp on my way to work, i happened to glance across the road at a huge statue of the virgin mary that is in front of the church near where i work.. the statue is completly silver and was beautiful and peaceful looking as it stood there brightly lit by the floodlight from below.
as i was thinking to myself how beautiful the statue looked to me, the word demonized popped into my head.

Fin... I used to date a catholic girl so I am the authority on all things catholic.
The Catholic church will recognize a baptism from ANY religion (including the dubs), if you wre baptized as a dub then the baptism should stand. This is what her priest told her when she talked to him about us getting married. You may want to talk to her priest and see if they say differently.
I do know that if you get married as a Catholic they make you sign some document that says that you promise to raise your children as catholics. Things to think about.

I got an e-mail for a long-lost dub friend
by Mackin inthere is this woman i used to correspond with back in my dub days but lost contact with several years ago.
anyway just the other day she sent me an e-mail out of the blue.. she wanted to know if i was "in" or "out" as she was planning a trip to australia and if i was still "in" possibly we could meet (obviously i would have to travel to oz).
she had heard i wasn't going to the meetings any more.. i replied that i was definitely not "in" any longer but that i wasn't da'd or df'd and if she wanted to read my story i provided her a link to my story on this site.

I was in the same place, family and friends wouldnt talk to me. In fact my mom disowned me and I am still not DF'd or DA'd! Its sad really that even family can so easily turn their back on you because you are not part of the borg.

Both she and I have moved on, she was with me during the time when I was fading away and being disowned by my mom. She is a raging catholic and wants to be with someone who is catholic as well. I went to mass with her a few times but my JW programming made me want to run out of there screaming.
She and I are in different places. Its ok, she is still my best friend and I am still her best friend so its all good. Just sometimes I really do miss her.

for those of you here in the states, the show is a british sit-com that used to run on comedy central and now runs on oxygen.
yes, your old buddy bendrr actually tuned in to the oxygen channel...only to watch abfab though.. i love that show.

I'm banned from the Silentlambs Website
by Trauma_Hound ini discovered a major security flaw on the silentlambs website, i e-mailed bill about it, setup up a small demonstration, mind you i told no one else about this.
and the demonstration was benine, because this flaw could allow someone to forward the site to say porn sights.
i won't go into detail, but let's just say i could cause alot of havoc with it.
