My chat with 2 Dubs yesterday about UN membership

i live close to a resonanbly busy street, 20 odd shops banks, a train station,a couple of cafes and coffee shops etc and usually see dubs doing street work close to the station and i'm now on nodding terms with an elder who is out most days of the week and have got close to recognizing most of the hard core of about a dozen of them , i was walking out of the cafe yesterday to be greeted by a couple of newbies i'd never seen before , a scruffy short dumpy man and a fairly well presented middle aged lady, i'll try and abridge the conversation as best as i can, we must have chatted for about 15 minutes and it was all in a good mannered style;.

me " have you sold many of those this morning ?".

Punkofnice..........Dingly Dell cats homes is an NGO, Rotherham tiddlywinks club is another example of a Non governmental organisation.

The Jw's being another NON governmental organisation doesn't strike me as evidence of their being " self serving liars".

Nothing they did in connection with the UN smacks of hypocracy at all as far as I'm concerned.

Listener, this letter from the JW's is rather more than an assuption.........

also NGO status was not sought purely to gain access to the library, it was to obtain access to other facilities.

Notwithstanding there IS a very important distinction between DPI NGO status and giving support to the UN..........

Well not being privy to the conversation you had with the fellow, I can't really comment. But DPI registration as an NGO to gain library access IS

somewhat different to having membership of the United Nations organisation and supporting it's stated aims, objectives and purposes..........in my

humble opinion..........

Are we discussing regestration as an NGO to access library facilities or speculations about 1975 Jookbeard ?

As regards 1975, I was there (as a kid) and I well remember many talks that stated quite clearly not to pin hopes on any particular date,

and it was always stated time and time again that NO one, except God knew the time and date of the end......

Which particular "blatant lie" are you referring to jookbeard? As far as I'm aware they've never denided being an NGO, they've never

given their support to the UN or changed their quite public condemnation of the UN either for that matter, so how exactly is that hypocracy or telling porky pies?

How is it serving the UN to tell the world of the UN's aims and objectives..........and to state catagorically that the UN would not only

be incapable of reaching those aims and objectives, but that they are diametrically opposed to God and would be destroyed at Armageddon?

Doesn't strike me as anything like "serving the UN" actually.

"In October 2001 The Guardian newspaper in the United Kingdom accused Jehovah's Witnesses of hypocrisy for being registered with the United Nations’ (UN) Department of Public Information (DPI) as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The newspaper claimed that all NGOs must support the United Nations, therefore Jehovah's Witnesses were guilty of hypocrisy because of teaching the United Nations is the prophesied “disgusting thing” of Revelation.

The Watchtower Society, the legal corporation used by Jehovah's Witnesses, immediately withdrew the DPI NGO membership. They explained that the requirements for being a DPI NGO had changed since they first signed up in 1992, and they then thanked The Guardian for bringing the matter to their attention........."

...............and as far as I can gather, they terminated the "library card" when they were made aware that the criteria had changed.

That actually seems fair enough to me.

Jookbeard................. splitting hairs about what constitutes being an acceptable NGO within the UN........ in fairness to them I don't see it as splitting hairs, I think there's a pretty big distinction between supporting the aims of a particular organisation, I.E. the UN, and agreeing to publicise their stated aims. After all, they had been writing about the UN's stated aims and objectives......for decades, only adding that it would take Gods theocratic government, rather than mankinds, to actually achieve those aims and objectives......
