  Depressed beyond Words...

  did u ever feel so depressed u felt the only thing that could get rid of the pain was to commit suicide???

  ?...well i tried that tonite,i know its not a good thing ,but i felt it was the only way out..well im still here so i didnt do it,thank god,my wrists have lil cuts everywhere tho,i just hope no one sees them..if u guys remember me yall know it has been an ongoing battle with my parents cause i dont wanna be a witness.. now i literally cannot do nothing!

  did anyone else pick up on bush's quote?.

  "no excuse that i was just following orders..." (to the iraqi army).

  i thought that was interesting since the parallel is that if anyone (elder, organization, watchtower) says anything contrary to the bible, we can't use that excuse either.

  I thought that was interesting since the parallel is that if ANYONE (elder, organization, Watchtower) says anything contrary to the Bible, we can't use that excuse either. We're still responsible in front of Jehovah.

  " i don't know where it is, but if you read it it was good.. anyway, likewise, here's something that sparked my thinking.... i've been told by elders, etc, that when you go into a judicial meeting or the elders have a meeting about appointents that the decision they made was "from jehovah.".

  The other day, Scully had a great post about "You will positively not die." I don't know where it is, but if you read it it was good.

  Anyway, likewise, here's something that sparked my thinking...

  I've been told by elders, etc, that when you go into a judicial meeting or the elders have a meeting about appointents that the decision they made was "from Jehovah."

  In other words, if you you didn't qualify to be an elder, it was OBVIOUSLY not the elders' petty jealousies or politics. It was that Jehovah himself saw fit that you weren't appointed. After all, where two or more are gathered together...

  So I was thinking, if that was the case, when the Governing Body meets, (and they are the most holy in the whole world), how do they justify some of the mistakes that they've made in theology and doctrine??? I mean, how can you have it both ways???

  If you question a brothers appointment or non-appointment as an elder, you're going against Jehovah. But in a more important case, the Governing Body meeting together to discuss doctrine, that that same "surety" doesn't apply if later on the doctrine changes???

  If it was really in stone, then they shouldn't be wrong. Or at the least, not go back and forth.

  Anyway, I hope I articulated this post good enough. I just wanted to know your opinion and how a Witness would defend this apparent contridiction.

  Please, limit your "Because they are not the Truth" comments. I'm trying to figure out the logic to defend this from the Witness standpoint.

  Love your "Will Not Hear" posts a lot.

  But just a suggestion since I don't have the Watchtowers...

  It gets confusing sometimes to see when the Watchtower is talking and when you are making your comment.

  I was wondering if you could diferenciate between the two better. Something like "My Quotes always in Red" or something or in another font.

  Maybe you already do that, but it seems inconsistant to me.

  i used to be a jw for a few years but i left it behind like a pair of dirty underwear.

  at first it seemed good.

  the people were all very nice and inviting (of course they would be), the teachings seemed logical.

  i need someplace to vent, so excuse me but i am very angry at the moment.

  as most of you know, my father in law committed suicide last sunday (the 16th).

  his death hit nina hard, but i've discovered this week that my sweet little kitten of a wife has the heart of a lion.

  This post really hit home.

  My slide with the witnesses happened after one of my closest friends committed suicide.

  When I got to the hospital he was already dead and I started to cry.

  An elder there said, "Why are you crying. This man committed self murder."

  It was then then I started to become disullusioned.

  My heart goes out to you Big Tex. I wish I could say something to make you feel better.

  i think a lot of jw's were subjecting themselves to robbery with that number.
