  i know that several people here live near downey.

  i live close and i used to go to the meetings at the downey kh (a spanish congregation).

  if i'm not mistaken, the downey north congregation gather there.

  I don't know who the Carpernters are. I belonged to a Spanish congregation.

  And about McDonald's... No LOL.. I've never gone there. I was, however, n the parking lot one morning when they were celebrating their 50th Anniversary. I didn't eat there. There weren't many people in the morining, but lots in the afternoon. 15 cents hamburgers, 10 cents soda, and 10 cents fries was not enough to convince me wait in line between 2-4 pm! But I have gone to the Jack in the Box right across the street! And besides, there's a closer McDonald's here where I live.

  well, i told my parent that i didn't want to be a jw (having not gone to meetings for many years) and it went pretty well.

  i even disproved watchtower doctrines, but of course i was the one who was mistaken.. i aslo said that i would be going to other churches... i didn't specify because i didn't want to see the reaction to catholic.

  i also signed up to start the process to become catholic (unlike the jw's you can just learn about the faith without any obligation or harrassment) i went down to st. francis de sales church and i signed up for the rcia program.

  I know that several people here live near Downey. I live close and I used to go to the meetings at the Downey KH (a Spanish congregation). If I'm not mistaken, the Downey North Congregation gather there. Was anybody part of this congrefation?

  I remember that an English congregation use to meet in the neighboring Bell Gardens back in the 80s, and i believe, not sure, that this one moved to Downey in '92 when a new Hall was built.

  Can anybody tell me more about this congregation or at least other local ones? I thought that this congregation was a 'pioneer' in many fields. But it seems that many people have become apostates and all coming from this one.. I also have heard of a man's suicide in '96. Does anybody know whats up with all this and also what kind of atmosphere can be found here?

  Noooo. In onother thread, when asked if Jehovah's Witneeses should be banned or at least had the power to so, everybody said NO. ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/45942/1.ashx ) So why should we report them if there where to be a ban? Doing so will mean the enjoyment of such suffering. This is hate.

  i'm wondering how much longer people will buy this load of crap?

  the society has been telling the r&f that armageddon is right around the corner for 124 years now, and they're still using this method.

  I'm aware of the statistics, Mary. Because they have increased n a lower rate doesnt mean they were hit mosly because of the Nov. '95 WT issue. I said MOST who leave are older children. If you were to couint 10 of the most recent people who were DFd, most are the young ones. And if you don't know this if because YOU are not aware.
