Done. But one last question might have been good to include. If more than high school education, when did you get your college or university education while a witness or after.

Rorschach test for JWs
by 1914BS in(i think i spelt it right??).
99 out of 100 jws won't be able to spot the jest ---- why??.
because they are mentally conditioned thru 5 mind control meetings per week to ignore jests of any kind.. (the gb would never allow jests in the artwork).

Well since a fish is often representative of Christianity, and the fish is what is feautred predominatly in teh picture, can we assume that Christianity is ruining the earth?

It's nice to see the WTS is lightening up...
by peacedog inwhen i was attending, an elder would never give tacit approval to a jw's participation on a website like this.
back then procedure was a harsh warning followed by disfellowshipping if the behavior were to continue.. when i was being raised a jw, no witness in good standing, let alone a pioneer, would ever consider allowing his/her children to attend a halloween or birthday party.
seems as though the days of "mental regulating of youth" are in the rear view mirror.... how great is that?

The traditional stance taken in Canada is that attendance at a church for a funeral or wedding is technically a conscience matter but the "stumbling others" counsel was always given right alongside of it. What if someone who knew you as a JW saw you entering a house of false religion? These matters should be seriously weighed when making a decision to support such a worldly event... blah blah
However being an active participant in such an event is cause for disciplinary action including being removed from a privilege such as pioneering or serving as an elder of MS. Since in this circumstance the JW would be particpating in some form of false worship.
Uzzah - who can't believe he can still parrot this crap after being our for more than a decade.

A resurgence of H1N1 is happening in North America. Fortunately it is the same strain and hasn't mutated into a more deadly virus.
Had two deaths last week in one area near me from H1N1. Both were in their teens with underlying medical conditions.

This May Be a Stupid Question
by snowbird inwhat happens to the members of a football team who sit on the sidelines and never get to play?.
if they are professionals, do they still get paid?.
i'm asking because i notice some who never leave the benches?.
-
Uzzah
The bench warmers or 'just in case' players do get paid but at a significant lesser rate than the 'first string' guys.

Is this an act of a deranged Pioneer JW?
by dissed insomeone arrested on a plane for preaching the bible.. who would be so stupid so as to quote the bible incessantly to the person sitting next to him?
then refusing to let the passenger get up from their seat until they finished preaching, so as not to acquire blood guilt?
and finally going beserk when he refused to stop, biting another passenger?.

Wasn't he the guy who was arrested for disturbing the peace/disrupting a religious assembly? (using a bull horn) He was a file on my desk for quite a few years.
He was already pretty old when that happened (circa 1990).

I am working with the planners for the G8 (and now the G20) that is going to be happening in Canada June 2010.
They have already received intel that these same groups of bussed in protesters will be coming here. Specific plans to accommodate peaceful demonstrations are already being made. There is a lot of resources being put in place to ensure demonstrations can happen.
Of course planning for the 'not-so-paceful' is also happening.
Due to jurisdictional issues it is too large for local cops only, Provincial (state) cops also need to be involved and Federal due to the presence of so many politicos. Then we also have CSIS (Canada's Intelligence Agency) plus law enforcement representatives from each of the attending Countries' secret service.
So I put it out there, if protesters become violent, how should authorities respond? In the presence of violent protests, smoke grenades, pepper spray, the smartest move is to go in, make a quick apprehension, get to a place of safety, then go through the legalities of the arrest. Being surrounded by protesters is not the best time to be reading Miranda to an accused.
Also it should be repeated that fatigues do not necessarily mean "military." I did some training as medical support to a non-military special joint force task force a few years back. My uniform as a medic for this task force was fatigues. Again there was no military involvement on this team.
That said, due to the risk and threats of violence already received, it would be foolish not to include the military as a surge capacity to respond to large scale protests. However they would be acting in a 'deputy to local authorities' role not as the military.
Protesters have every right to protest and authorities need to do as much as possible to ensure this is possible. I think people would be surprised as to how much time is dedicated to ensuring this happens. However once it becomes violent, or results in personal or property damage those rights are suspended until those threats are removed.
If people keep it peaceful, there would not be an issue. There would be no need for arrests, tear gas etc. I put the onus where it belongs. Protestors need to keep it peaceful. If they don't authorities will need to respond (measured and according to law of course).

BB:
Were it not for your efforts, were it not for the birthday party, you would not have had the chance to hug her and tell her that you love her.
The rest was out of your control.
{{{{hugs}}}} and I am just down the highway if you need anything

ex wants to be free to remarry - ugh
by No Apologies inok, i'm sure i am not the first one to be in this predicament but it sure is a headache, my jw ex called a few days ago, apparently she has met someone (they're not dating of course!
) and she wants to me to hand over the golden ticket.
she wants confirmation either in writing or verbally to a third party, that she is "scripturally free" to remarry.. i have managed for years now to avoid any judicial action and my jw family members still associate with me, but that all could come to a screeching halt if i give her what she wants.. the only bright side is she totally robbed me on the divorce; if she gets married i am at least off the hook for "spousal maintenance", that would mean potentially thousands of dollars in my pocket.... .

Dear ex:
I am currently doing my best to continue meeting Jehovah's standards for morality. I find it very disconcerting that you are hopeful that I would incur Jehovah's displeasure by committing some form of immorality. I wish no evil upion you and find it bothersome that you would hope that I have sinned in order that you may join with someone who is not your husband.
I am almost of the opinion that you have already sinned within your heart.
I have been faithful to the expectations God has for me in my current state and feel it only appropriate that you too follow the same path. However should you decide to disobey Jehovah I too would appreciate recieving a letter from you advising that I am free to remarry."
I pray that you respect Jehovah's arrangements and hope you find the joy and happiness that comes from following Jehovah's laws rather than succumbing to the needs of the flesh.
From you.
Then go screw your brains out and enjoy living.
