For two old farts like Farkel and I (and Outlaw, well he is just a fart not so sure about the old part) to come out and so publicly denounce this whole scheme should be rather telling.
No I am not comparing myself to Farkel as that would be demeaning to his past efforts, experiences and research. I am best compared as as a flimsy supportive brace that once tried to focus or bridle the passion of Farkel's ex-JWism. I gave up on that effort LOL I still can't believe I tried to moderate Farkel, Jan, Kent, Norm, AlanF et al back in the day. I guess I am past my sado masochistic tendancies :)
Rick has allowed his desire for presence and making a difference to cloud his judgement. That is human. Intentional deciet of others is more evil imo. Hopefully Rick will figure this out.
Farkel - What is it with ex-JW's named Rick anyway?!?!?!

Worry not about the Rick's of this world but rather that you lived up to your conscience and did what you felt was right. The rick's are but mere blips on the greter scheme of things and not worth your fears, dread of conscience or concern
I am not one for prestige on these forums but believe me when I say your good intentions are not lost on the good hearted but rather scorned by those intent on deceit or building a 'reputation'
Trust in your good intentions and keep doing as you see fit.
You defended Six Screens and Johnny as you were able and saw fit to do. I am glad you eventually saw through the fiction but am sorry if you are 'picked on' for doing so.
Stay strong in your beliefs

Verifiable Former Bethelite Willing to Answer questions
by Uzzah ini am a former active poster here, former elder, former bethelite and pretty much known by people on the xjw boards since the mid 90's.
gawd that makes me sound old.. i notice that a great deal of uproar is being made by allegations of a hide in the closet alleged bethelite.
to counter the damage caused by this claim, i am happy to address any questions people may have about bethel, protocol, etc.. i was at the canada branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the legal department, service desk and writing dept.

Mr Mustard: The tunnels are simply underground walkways to get from one building to another. It is primarily for the practical reason of not having to go outside during inclement weather. The more paranoid claim it is for escaping from mobs or protests should they occur but considering they don't go anywhere except other bethel buildings it would be of limited value as an escape plan.
We did declare the one tunnel at the Canada Branch (between the residence and the office/factory) to be the tornado shelter. It was good for at least that purpose

Regarding the printing aspects of the branch, I have no idea abut current printing volumes. When i was there they had a single Harris 4 colour web for all the magazines and KMs. They had a few small offset presses for smaller run 2-colour printing jobs. I heard they were exp-anding to make room for a second 4-colour web press but never heard what kind.
Moving the printing to Canada was likely done as a cost savings measure.
Broken Promises:
Will I find love anytime soon? Not if you keep asking so many questions
Will my business venture flourish or collapse? Depends on your commitment and market volaitility
Will anyone close to me die this year? Unfortunately, the odds are yes we all will have to deal with that.
Where is that necklace that fell down the sink drain? Umm in the drain
Who really shot JR? Hated that show
Is the moon really made of cheese? Sounds gouda to me.
Will there ever be a remake of Bonanza? Odds are, Hollywood seems to be out of original ideas

I only have a couple of minutes before having to head out. So I will have to be brief for now.
Net worth of the Society? I have no idea. COnsidering the property they own and estates still coming in regularly it is probably larger than many country's GDP.
Mental illness. Depression and 'environmental allergies" seem to plague many Witnesses. Bethel is pretty hard on anyone less than 10 years who develop any kind of illness that could prevent them from doing their assignment. Unless of course they are in a prime position such as legal or Service desk overseer or on the Branch Committee (of course).
I have seen many a single brother and married couple 'encouraged' (read told) to leave. No support financially, just told to go home and hopefully the local congregation will step up to help.
The closest thing I can think of that is not really a Department is the Bethel Elder/Shepherding program especially for new Bethelites. These are more of a spy position and telling them what is acceptable or not. Making certain they don't miss morning worship etc.
If they have set up anything more beyond the normal infirmary and Bethel elder arrangement I would be very very surprised. That would require feelings and human emotion which isn't usually manifest within Bethel policy.
Marvin! Good to see you. We'll talk.
I am not familiar with US Tax law regarding charities but in Canada I know they have to submit a public tax filing each year that details money in, money spent in different manners including how much money left Canada to support other charities (including to the US). I would imagine there is something similiar in the US in order to maintain charitable status.
Oh and Shamus - Monkeys have bad breath and are actually reptilian aliens... I am outta here... LOL

I just listened to the first 4 minutes of the latest appearance of Johnny. It is just my opinion but the guy is either someone needing mental help or else a drunk trying to pull one over on the ex-JW community.
"I am being followed right now"
"I told them I want to leave but they said I can't because of what I kow." "They threatened my family"
This just doesn't happen. I helped write the frickin 1995 Watchtower article about the "Generation Change" and was privvy to all the discussions surrounding that change. I knew of many of the child abuse cases, cover ups and mishandlings. Yet when I said I wanted to leave, they all but drove me to the gate. Yet this kid, who claims to be involved in hacking/tracking (yet cannot explain what he did in any kind of technical manner) is so important they are looking to silence him? Yeah right.
This is all either paranoid delusions or intentional prank.
Anyone have any serious questions they want answered. I will check in tomorrow and answer as I can. Good night all.

I listened to part of the first broadcast when he first made his appearance. I did not listen to the most recent as it would be a waste of time based on what I heard the first time.
Claims of the underground bunkers, etc.
It is not the first hoax to be perpetrated on JWD/JWN nor will it be the last. Anyone else remember Danni?

The simple fact is that Bethel just doesn't care. Once people leave they are gone.
People who are still known as JW's are faced with nosey elders, Ministerial Servants and their wives who like to make other people's business their own. But I know from my days both at Bethel and as an Elder there is no campaign to search out people online aside from individual efforts.
The Internet was just coming of age when I was at bethel and there was HUGE paranoia about it. I was one of the first bethelites to have my own PC and Internet account. I had many friends at Watchtower Farms and within Canada IT and even back then there was no concentrated effort to seek out JW's online to track their activity.
Again, we would all like to think we matter to Bethel but we don't. They are so convinced about the rightness of their ways that they don't spend a moment's thought about our activity online unless it is somehow involving a legal or potentially legal matter.
The only thing they actively pursue online is copyright infringement and they are equally as nasty with believers as they are with unbelievers/opposers.

Fatfreak: The only potential fallacy I see in your post is that Legal would immediate stop illegal activity. They would support it if they felt they could somehow justify it under "freedom of religion". Watchtower Legal will feel it is above the law if they are convinced that Jehovah's way is more important than any law of mere men.
That said, I do not believe for one minute any story about Watchtower hackers etc. The Society will likely act on reports from elders who do 'monitor other users' activities but only after cautioning such ones about the dangers of continuing their activity online. Brooklyn would not assign people to hack or monitor Facebook. In cases where they are involved or potentially involved with an individual, they will look at that person's online activity just like any lawyer would.
The last thing I would mention in regards your post is that they could still disfellowship the person who is a whistleblower, even if never announced. I was never officially disfellowshipped but am treated as such. So they might not publicly go after someone but the gossip/rumour mill is very strong among 'the faithful.'
