Magnum I am so glad you and your wife woke up.

This rotten cult can add childlessness to its crimes along with people dying from blood shunning child abuse and it goes on.

The sister who got me in the borg went to Brooklyn bethel and Gillead School in the sixties with her husband. She was probably in her early fifites when she studied with me. I remember how sad she would look when seeing the kids in the hall or a sister pregnant. I never go tthe chance to ask her if she wished she had kids. i would of probably got the standard we put Jehovah first. I wish i could contact her my heart goes out to her she would be nearly 80 possibly by now.

I wonder how a lot of those older brother's and sisters who didnt have kids because "the end was so near" feel now when they see the organisation promoting Sophie and Caleb. Promoting children getting baptised.

Back in the day there is no way witness's were made to feel good about having children since the end was so near.

I was married and got pregnant in the 90's and was frowned upon for it.

When was the last time any of their publications promoted the agenda "dont have kids the end is near"?

My heart really goes out those that listened to this cult and never had kids. Ihope some of them woke up.

Axelspeed: My anger and resentment are now almost turning into embarrassment and pity for current JWs and embarrassment that I was ever raised in this cult. I agree with you, I just cannot believe how far the JW's have gone toward the world of commercialism and idolatry.

I agree with you too Simon, some of the older ones must be so embarrassed at the drop in standards of this organization.

how many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.

how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.

how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

I left in 1994 because I was sick of being judged by the brothers and sisters as spiritually weak I had been ill for awhile and had missed lots of meetings. I had also married a man who was only 30 (this is in 1991) who claimed to be anointed so they poo pooed that as well. I still believed it was 'The Truth' for a few years. I was given COC by my ex who had left just a little after me. Because I still believed i didnt read the book.

Around 1999- 2000 I found the internet and did a search " jehovahs witness's". Found Randy Watters page and just a little later found this site. Then I started to wake up. I heard about the book COC on here and realised hey !! I have that book!1. Read it and the rest is history. I have only met one real life exjw who just happened to have been my exhusbands bestfriend and was bestman at our JW wedding. I actually met him again through this forum. We have since lost touch but I remember how reassuring it was that someone else knew that the JW's did not "The Truth"

Since then I haven't met any real life ex Jw's.

Governing body member engaged... Again!

just found out that the australian governong body member known as geoffrey jackson got engaged to a sister about two weeks ago.

it really shocked me at first but then i remembered how other members of the gb have remarried in the past like daniel sidlik.

what made me say "woah" was hearing that the holy bride to be is really young!

its been a little over 2 years since i left the watchtower.

in that time the magazines have been cut, the birth of jwtv, jw-org.

carts for preaching, removed district overseers, cut assemblies, demand all the money from the congregations, stop construction and layoff bethelites, change the format of the tmschool .

I think the door to door work will go. In this day and age its just not politcally correct to go around knocking on peoples doors. There are insurance issues occupational health and saftety along with the orgs own pedaphile problem. The carts will stay for a while.

I agree that they will use there JW tv at the meetings to make up for the lack of elders and Ms's.

I also agree they will become more and more like Scientology.
