Neverthere,
Nope. Don't sound like a kook to me! If you would like to PM me, I'd love to hear from you.

i'm really curious about this subject.
i guess i still tend to think anything strange that happens is demons.
now that i'm trying to be open about other possibilities i'm curious.. have you had any experiences with ghosts or haunted places?

CG, wouldn't it be a hoot to have an ex-JW ghost hunting group? Too bad our we're all spread out through the world!
Maybe we can plan a ghost hunt/apostate-fest in New Orleans!

It's obvious I haven't been here for a couple of days!
I believe there is "something" out there besides demons. Throughout childhood, I was taught that all demons were supposed be evil, slaves of Satan. If that were true, then all paranormal experiences would be bad and scary, wouldn't they? If you read books on "true ghost stories", most encounters are NOT scary or bad.
Country Girl and I have the same philosophy about ghosts. While a ghost hasn't exactly walked up to me and said "Howdy", I've had some strange experiences on my ghost hunting expeditions. I am still waiting for that one experience that will totally convince me! But I'm sure CG will agree with me that most of the fun with ghost hunting is the "hunting" part.
There are no real answers to whether or not ghosts exist. Any evidence brought to the table that ghosts exist are immediately de-bunked by skeptics and scientists.
As CG stated, www.shadowlands.com is a good website to check out. If anyone is interested, they can check out my group's site as well. www.glpr.org. We are also linked to shadowlands.
Peace out my friends!

i thought about this topic last night for the board when watching one of my favorite movies.. 1. the man from snowy river- the part when they are going after the expensive colt and they get to the edge of the cliff and all the other riders stop and "jim" keeps going and leaps down the cliff after the wild horses.
i absolutely love that part of the movie...everytime its on i have to watch it, if not just to see this part only.. 2. love and basketball- when she tells him she will play for his heart...awwww first time i started crying.
and then the music they had playing in the background made it even worse.
Glitter,
I forgot about *that* scene in The Ring! Scared the crap out of me! It takes much to scare me!

The end of Shawshank Redemption. One of the best endings for a movie EVER!
The end of Dirty Dancing. I agree with Lady Lee, I love it when Patrick Swayze says "Nobody puts Baby in a corner". I CRY every time she does the jump.
The train scene from Risky Business. Tom Cruise, Rebecca DeMornay, Phil Collins. A TRULY erotic scene.
The beginning of There's Something About Mary when he gets his balls caught in his zipper. I laugh hysterically every time I watch it.
The end of the movie Crossroads with Ralph Macchio and Jami Gertz. Ralph's character duals rocker Stevie Vai for the old man's soul. The guitar work in that scene is amazing.
o.k....most people that know me know me to be a rational and logical person not prone to hype or the sensational.
nor am i infatuated with the supernatural as many jw's/ex-jw's are/were.
with that said, let me relate what happened to me at work last night.. on saturday night, we had four bad burns come in.
TT -
Wow. Quite the story. How sad for that family. At least you know she went to a better place.
Stories like this make me feel encouraged that there is something beyond death, something beyond the "sleep until resurrection (if you're good enough)" that the JW's teach. How could something like this be a "demon". Please.

we've learned so much about each other and i thought i'd toss this out atcha.....
i'm five feet tall (or short---however you see it :-) and wondering how tall you are!
annie
5'11". (They grow 'em big in the cornfields of Indiana).
Always hated being tall. Didn't start appreciating it until I was in my 20's.
.
i have one or two little spiders that i noticed living in my home... but i don't get rid of them hoping that they will keep the other bugs out.. does anyone else do this?.
The little, teeny, tiny ones don't bother me. The big ones are another story. I live close to a river, and when the river gets high, big WOLF SPIDERS run for the hills and into my house. Those things are FREAKY and I'm afraid of them. My husband is afraid of them, too, which is not a good thing. (Aren't men supposed to kill the spiders in the house?)
But, what you are afraid of, you are fascinated, too. I will be the first one to watch a spider show on Discovery and have seen Arachnophobia three or four times.
I once almost swallowed a daddy long legs on a camping trip. It landed in my beer. Fortunately, I had a good enough buzz to pull it out of my mouth and not freak. Don't like them much, either.
GH
White Castles and onion chips are the BEST at 3:00 a.m. when you have a good buzz. Ahhhhhh. The memories. Don't have them in West Michigan, have to buy them frozen. Always stop when I'm down in Hoosier country.
Around her, Taco Bell. None of that new stuff. Bean burritoes and taco supremes. Bring on the BEANO!

my first rollercoaster ride was 25 years ago.
the racer at kings island.
it was alot of fun and for whatever reason, that was the last time.
LW - I didn't realize that Holiday World had gotten so BIG! When I lived in Indiana, it was Santa Clause Land, and I don't think it was much more than kiddy rides.
<sigh> I still miss Indianapolis after all these years.
