Faith, where now?
by Theburstbubble inso for the first time ever i went to a church service at my local church (coe) and i have to say it was awful!
it was just like a ritual.
the vicar would say something and then the congregation would all say a phrase in unison back to him.

While I still attend the meetings for my wife's sake, inwardly I know that the Organization is no more right than any other. And so (for me at least) going to another church, even if it was once a month, would truthfully be no different. One of the things that stuck in my mind from the writings of Bro. Franz was the correcting of something that Witness are often told. Its often said "Where shall will we go to" but in reality the Bible said not where but to whom. That being that case, its our belief in Jesus and our continued belief in him that is important. And I believe that we have more chance of building that up by doing a personal act of kindness to a stranger (as Jesus would have done), taking a small amount of time to just read and think about the ordinary lives of first century Christians for ourselves, or to even sitting in the garden stuyding the simple beauty of single flower ... than listening to the machine produced Watchtower Study articles in the meeting. I know that this may not answer you question exactly Theburstbubble, but the thing that all of us have to understand once coming to know the real Truth, is that there is a big difference in being Spiritual as compared to being Religious. And that I think is the real crux of the matter. -

If the Australia branch zone overseer's visit is anything to go by, if you don't get a GB member doing the talk, it will probably be bad news. (ie more cut backs) -

Australia Branch to end magazine printing
by no-zombie injust one week from the zone overseer's visit is the announcement that the magazine production by the australia branch will end in a few months.
the task being transferred to the japan branch.
while i'm not 100% certain, i understand that this effectively ends all major printing bar perhaps tracts, handbills and other loose items.

If anyone doubts what I wrote from the outset, all they will have to do is go to their Christian Life and Ministry meeting for this week and hear the letter for themselves during the announcements. -

NEW BLOOD CARD w/ FORCED COMPLIANCE also LEGALISM
by apocalypse ini have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".
the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".
this is huge.

Not to go contrary to the comments from anyone but could this be fake when the letter is dated April the 1st?
Just an observation.

So... Are they done printing the number of partakers?
by thedepressedsoul induring the wt study yesterday i had a confused look on my face the whole meeting.
more of a, wtf, face.
one paragraph says, "therefore, the number of partakers does not accurately indicate the number of anointed ones left on earth.".

I feel that some have missed something important (as did all those at my hall). Stating the number of the anointed left alive was another time prophecy due to is direct linking and often quoted date of 1935 being the end of sealing of the 144,000. Due making the statement that the real number of anointed is unknown, they have effective distanced themselves from it. As those a bit older may remember, how any times did we hear that the end was coming very soon because of the fast dwindling 'number'. It also can be used to explain how members of the GB on the body despite being born after 1935.

I don't know about most of you, but I really look forward to the AGMs. I probably get more excited about them coming around each year than anyone at my hall. Its sort of like Christmas. I wonder what crazy idea will be released this year? I can't wait. -

I have the feeling that countries are now on their own financially. If a branch can't manage with their own contributions and be at least self-sufficient, then they'll have cut back somehow to make end meet. This would explain the selling Kingdom Halls in lands with some growth. -
India Branch

In regards to Organization, some may not correctly understood what the real effect of the aged Brotherhood is going to have on the Witness population. We all know that half the Brothers in our congregations are already in their 60's and many are touching their 70's. When they die, they'll do it en masse and crash the viability of most Kingdom Halls in the modern world. With no new blood coming in; it will become a very hollow religion very quickly.
