Look I'm sorry guys but that list is never going to see the light day, as much as I would like it to be. They sooner delete it than let it out.
And why? For starters, just how many many names are on that list? And how must does it cost just to settle one abuse case these days; i'm guessing 1.5 million on average. Do the maths and you'll see that it will bankrupt the Organization despite the recent property sales.
And what about the unknown number of new abuse claims that will emerge when those previously silent victims realize that their perpetrator has been allowed to molest others kids too. There will be quite a few who have kept quite in the past for Jehovah's name. That's got to be factored in as well.
Some might say, they could start selling Kingdom Halls for the extra cash. But that's not going to work either. Because the one thing that kept the whole child abuse scandal under the radar of most of the brothers is the fact that they haven't heard about it or it's viewed as an isolated problem somewhere far away. But start selling a congregation's hall by force and it will touch the brotherhood personally, forcing them to ask some painfully hard questions.
And think of the very real repercussions when the names of those pedophiles become known. Even if there was no-one in your congregation named, how much general trust would remain? Any brother seen patting the head of one the congregation's children or handing out sweets after the meeting to them, would instantly become a leper or worse.
No ... it would be game-over and they know it. They will pay the fine no matter what the cost or who has to be thrown in the bus to keep it secret.
