  Prediction of large drop in JW numbers in 2014

  i am going to make the prediction, here and now in mid 2006, that there will be a significant drop in the number of jehovah's witnesses in the year 2014, the one hundredth anniversary of 1914.. the only way this drop in numbers might be avoided is if the watchtower society can think up some way to stir up the rank and file and get them motivated to do more, like they did with the 1975 fiasco.. .

  i doubt very much that the watchtower magazine is going to proclaim loudly in the year 2014 anything about the "generation of 1914" not passing away.. --vm44

  he stated that jw's don't proclaim or feel that they have special chosen ones to lead nor do they feel as though they are the sole organization to get to god.

I went to Brown twenty-some years ago when he was in the Service Department to report some reckless mischief going on between a district overseer, a circuit overseer and some elders. He spoke and sounded then just as he does now. It's remarkable how very little has changed. Instead of assuring me that there would be an investigation into the matter, Brown slavishly defended the conduct of those men just as he submissively twisted and squirmed to defend the WT Society during your interview. He gives the impression of being sincerely interested in you as a person and as wanting to be helpful, but all he's concerned about is getting you to gloss over the errors of the organization. The organization and its prominent members can do no wrong. It's nearly impossible for him, as well as all others in high position at headquarters, to see otherwise. Frank

  You are not alone in being upset. I have an 89-year-old friend in town who left the organization 15 years ago simply by not attending the meetings anymore. She is a sweet lady who can barely harm a fly. Nearly every week I hear her express affection for former friends who used to love doing nice things together with her but who now cross the street when they see her coming. She was never even disfellowshipped, and they treat her like that!!! They do this because their misguided elders, some of them Bethelites, instruct them to.

  Age sees a lot of things...and as I said before..how important is being right?

  I'm 70 and you're going on 64. I hope as you age you grow out of this silly business of yours of sugar-coating the unchristian Watchtower organization -- an organization that has brought devastation to far more individuals and families than probably any other so-called "Christian" religion in modern times.

  it is interesting to note that clive thomas (canadian branch office) spoke during his part in such a way as to betray the fact that he was personally aware that what he was saying was false.. it's one thing when a local onion gets exuberant about parroting the gb's nonsense.

  it's quite another when a bloodsucker like clive comes from the branch and does a "bait 'n switch" the way he did.

  since things were now going well at home and i was healthy and unencumbered, i decided to leave home and enter the pioneer service, as the full-time ministry is called.

  my parents encouraged me to do so.

  Snoozy,

  I have to tell you that you come across as somebody who is accusing the innocent. We are not the ones who made up the shunning rule. Most of us are not the shunning sort. Just because you've had a bad experience, don't think that what you experienced or observed is something that identifies with most of us.

  If you know JWs as well as you claim, why not speak the truth about them? Why suggest or insinuate that we on this board are the ones in the wrong and that most JWs nowadays don't REALLY want to shun and are being wrongly accused?

  I have relatives and former friends who are deathly afraid to speak to me for fear they will die at Armageddon for doing so. They don't even dare to respond to my friendly "hello." In their eyes I'm like the devil's right-hand man, even though I daily mind my own business and go about my life by being as kind and helpful to people as I know how.

  What the WT organization does to people's lives by its cruel and demonic shunning policy is something they will have to answer to before God and Christ. Why put yourself in the hot seat by defending the guilty and pointing an accusing finger at the innocent?
