PROTEST RALLY - CHANGE OF TIME

newsworld has explained to me that having the protest rally at 2:00pm does not give them enough time to make the six oclock news.

i have changed the time of the rally to start at 12:00 noon and end at 4:00pm.

The rally was a great success! There were about 15 of us there, including a policeman and a CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.) camera crew. We were there from 11:45 am to 2 pm. Several of us were interviewed. The policeman assured us we had a right to be there, and he was there to direct traffic in case we needed him when crossing the highway in front of the WT compound. A man showed up who was apparently a WT staff member. He spoke with the police and the CBC crew but not with us. A few neighbours and others stopped to ask what we were doing, and several cars passed by tooting their horns in our support. We noticed that not many cars were entering the compound from the highway, and we figured the Bethelites and visitors were entering and leaving by way of the rear entrance. That being the case, the Society obviously knew we were coming and must have warned the congregations in the Toronto area not to use the main entrance when visiting on Saturday afternoon. Hopefully the interviews will be aired on CBC-TV and/or on Newsworld. The signs prepared by various ones among us were very striking. One they gave me to hold said something like "Obey and Serve Christ, not mere men." On the opposite side: "Your Organization is an IDOL." I hope others who were there will fill in more details, but I have to get back to work.

Meet in front of the complex on the city sidewalk.

There is no city sidewalk in front of the complex. On the WT side is a narrow tar-paved over-lapping of the road. Across the road is a wider area, part of which is a bus stop, but it isn't paved. It might be dangerous to stand on the WT side unless we stand on the grass. Traffic moves along at 100 kph (60 mph).

since some of you inquired... i have just come home from the hospital the dr said "you are a tough old bird -after he saw the xrays.

he knew i suffer a lot of pain anyway.

( rh arth)-gonna live another 25 years"-i told him to" scram.

Let me be among the first to say "GLAD TO HEAR THE GOOD NEWS!!!" It's not so good that you still have plenty of pain, but it's great to know things aren't as bad as they might have been. But ... another 25 years??? You'll still be here after some others of us are long gone!

How old were you when you left?

i only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.

all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.

i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.

In at age 8; left Bethel and JWs 10 years ago at age 58.
