  I had occasion to get to know a programmer from the same country. I asked him about religion and God. He said over there they are ignorant and beleive in a form of animism. A good deal of time and energy is spent in mindless rituals and appeasement scams. The "shetani" will take many forms and bring darkness in along their backs. You know when they are present. They can control you if you notice them especially if they see you looking. He said he was happy to be educated and out of that place he referred to as the armpit of the earth.

  Welcome. Some guys would think you are very successful. The part about forgiving yourself and being forgiven by jehovah. The problem is you are trapped in an endless cycle and not really getting to the main important thing in your life which is finishing your critique of the wtbs. Once you investigate their history and prophetic statements you'll see. You keep running back to the Hall to get yourself right with God and feel better. Perhaps the fear of Armageddon leaves you with a sense of urgency you just can't live with. That's the problem. You can pray to Jehovah and be forgive all by youself--even seventy-seven times (no limit). This doesn't mean you are free to continue as before but you are really forgiven. The burg would like you to feel the need for them to keep you prayers from being hindered, etc., etc. Youv'e heard that before. Stop running back to them to feel better and finish your investigation of the societ and their true history. Then you will see that they are not what they say they are and you can find the real truth. You do not need them.

  i feel like such a fool!.

  i was spoofed this week by a 13-year-old girl.

  she approached me through yahoo and led me to believe that i had finally made contact with one of my family.

  I am so sorry for you Swan. To have your hopes dashed like that must have really pulled the rug out from under you. To yearn for your family must be difficult. I certainly don' t think you should consider yourself foolish over this. I hope and pray some of your family will see the light soon. There is always hope for that. In a way, this place is like a family. I have only been here a few months and already it's become a larger part of my life. regards, Carlton

  as my name suggests, i'm from nyc.

  i've lived in every borough of new york and spent time at most of the local congregations until i finally decided that it was all for nothing (my recent posts on this forum explain why).

  during this time, i noticed an interesting pattern - the jws only preach in poor to middle class neighborhoods.

  You're gonna hear a great sucking sound. Ross Perot. Once the high paying jobs are gone (not actually that great after taxes) we can become a third-world country. If nobody earns nobody spends. At least the other competing countries have free health care and even education. When I tried to get tech support from Dell, I could not understand the Indians' accent so I gave up. There is so much that is going to be exported from analysts' jobs to call centers. How can an American compete with such an unlevel playing field. I think this subject will be the next big rallying point for politician. Right now, I do not understand why this is not on anyone's agenda in politics. Unfortunately, how can you blame a corporation for cutting costs this way?

  today i walked into my office and learned my head boss at the college had died of a heart attack the previous friday night.

  absolutely devastated about this.

  actually all of us who worked with him weren't fond of him at times, but no one wished bad things upon him.

  Happens like that once in a while. Two years ago I lost a wife, a father in law, a mother in law, a biker buddy crashed and died, a former young apprentice of mine in a car crash, and a grandmother. Last week a coworker collapsed on the job and died at work. You'll get thru it. You're tougher than you think. Thoughts with you, Carlton
