Well Pepper, I know first hand that a good number of my ex friends and I smoked pot quite a bit. We didn't see any problems with it of course. It was just something stupid to do that was forbidden and against the law. We also used to drink quite a bit also.
One of the few good things that came out of being df'd is that I don't see them any more so I don't do drugs or drink.
Drugs and alcohol are out there and we know how to hide it really well. I had a teacher at school lecture me about using drugs that it will get you no where in life and I never listened, but looking back he was 100% correct. It is not needed and it only leads to trouble.

I would buy many things for many people. I would also give to people less fortunate. But I wonder if life would get better or worse. You would have to question yourself if new friends are after money or not.
Also I bet my family and old friends whom have not talked to me in months would come out of the woodwork to contact me and see me. Yeah you know what, it would be great to rub it in their faces.

Do all witnesses shun you?
by JH inthere are always a few tender hearted, who know that shunning is stupid and keep on talking to df'd people, when no one is looking.
are there still a few who keep on talking to you, even if you are df'd?
i'm sure that elders wouldn't shun you if you talk to them, so why do others have to shun you?

I had many "friends", but when I left I lost all but one. He was/is my best friend. We don't talk like we did and not nearly as often, but he is my only friend now. No one else will talk to me. It really sucks. But now I am making new friends and hopefully I can have what I thought I once had, many close friends.

Do you really need liquor at a wedding reception?
by ronin1 inthis is in response to the post on december 10, : "a wedding gone bad"-.
the question: do you really need liquor at a wedding reception?.
here is my story:.

I think everyone should have alcohol at their wedding reception. Then again I may be biased because I just got a job bartending at a place that holds receptions.
So please tip generously.
btw, I pour them how I like them, strong.

Life, death and other musings
by outbackaussie ini have been absent from here for afew days.
on thursday my hubby got a phonecall from his dearest and best friend's partner that the tumour in his brain had agressively spread and it was looking like time is just about up.
we have known that this was coming for about 2 years since he was diagnosed with the cancer but even now it is a shock and very numbing to know you will lose a dear friend soon.

I also have seen this type of cancer take the life of a wonderful person. Family and loved ones are important at a time like these.
My prayers go out to you.

Everyone has had their moments when they have been smart and when they have been, well just darn stupid. I have been in the latter more often than not, so I will be the first to say it is not me.

I'm relatively new here and this site has helped me a lot. However, I think I'm going to need more help... I was DFed back in July just after my 18th birthday; I just couldn't take it any more. Things have been very hard for me to say the least. My parents and my friends no longer talk to me and pretend like I don't even exist. I have tried to straighten my life out as best I could. I received state money to go to college and I work two jobs to pay for the rest.
Now my girlfriend who is 17 just told me that she is pregnant and is absolutely beside herself right now. She is currently a dub and she wants out but does not want to loose her family and friends as I did. Her mother and brothers are devout jws and will surely flip out. Her dad who lives apart from them is a cool guy and likes me but he scares me because he can be a violent man. He has always told his children not to make the same mistake he did by having children and getting married at a young age; he calls it the worst mistake of his life and that it ruined him. I think when he finds out he will come after me. We just don't know what to do. I think we are in major trouble. Any advice? It would be much appreciated.
