  Elder quits meetings

  i received good news from my daughter, it was amazing to her, but she informed me that she met an old friend from a congregations we attended 10 years ago, and the upshot was that the friends partents no longer attended meetings.

  he her dad had been an elder the last i talked with him, he had left the congregation we were in due to the attitude of other elders there, went to a new congregation and the last i heard was very happy there.

  we had had conversations about various aspects of the supposed truth and he always tried to counsel me about the troooth as spouted by the pharasies then.

  Do you have any way to contact this man? Maybe now you can share real truths with him!! Oh the irony!!

  My mom tries to keep it from me when someone "falls away" but occasionaly when I ask how so and so is doing I hear the awful news that they "went off the deep end" and I try really hard to keep the gleam of joy in my eye from showing to much

  I recently found out that two more of my cousins are out and free.. way to go boys!!! woohoo! er.. I mean.. oh, that's so sad....

  Confession described how I felt exactly:

  upon awakening, we found no baby in the basin. Just bathwater.

  Maybe it has to do with being raised a JW? When I left I found my beliefs were like a balloon, once I let all the WT bs out, there was nothing left. I didn't have any prior belief system to go back to, I started over from scratch.

  Yes, Isaac.. I've read the entire series. You may be an unbeliever.. but you are not a Leper!!! Christians and Atheists will butt heads from time to time, but we are all friends here, reguardless of our beliefs. Try not to take it so hard.

  When I left the JW's I was mad. Mad at Jehovah. Infuriated with him for allowing me to believe falsehoods.

  It took awhile but gradually I began to realise that God hadn't decieved me, I had decieved myself. I believed the illusions because I wanted to.

  Then I began to understand that there was no higher power influencing my life. At this point I was able to look at the bible in a new way. Again, this took awhile, but I began to understand it as a book written by men for men. Specificly for men long dead, not for modern man at all.

  I still think that there is more to the universe than we understand. Call it a higher power or supernatural or divine.. or simply energy we don't have a grasp on yet.

  Most importantly for me... I'm ok not knowing all the answers.

  hi everyone, i was on myspace having a discussion with a jw about wedding rings.

  does anyone know if wedding rings were made to worship a false god?

  this is a very funny question, because often when i come across a opposers of bible truth and explain to them about how certain 'so-called christian' holidays actually predate christ's ministry on earth and all the traditions associated with xmas, easter, valentines, etc.

  maybe i'm just a bit paranoid but i think my parents may be on to me.

  i hope i didn't blow my cover.... i was out with some jw kids and realised that i left all my "apostate" research and my notebook out on my desk in my room.

  when i got home my mother was crying in her room.

  We are here for you. Just take lots of deep breaths..

  The worst that can happen is you will be DF'd and it will be over, you will start a new life. You can do that. You are strong enough.

  Maybe they will let it slide... who knows. Hell.. maybe your mom or dad caught the other reading apostate stuff and you will have someone making an exit with you.

  Try not to jump to too many conclusions. and keep us informed so we can support you through whatever!

  i just uploaded a song that i bought to a web page called http://boomp3.com i don't know if it's legal to do that?

  does anyone else know?

  it converts songs to mp3 and makes a html code for the songs too.
