.
even if you don't agree with the content (they are all political), surely you must acknowledge the quality chops done.
these are wartime propoganda posters used in the us at various times in its past, re-chopped to, errr, fit the 'modern' situation..... click on any of them to start the slideshow - it's worth the time..
I liked the "Rosie" one all the way at the bottom

i would like to hear some of the strangest or most ridiculous thing you got in trouble with the elders for.
here is mine.. back in the early 70's i was married at the age of 18, typical witness thing to do.
my husband who was 6 years older than i ruled me like a overly strict father.
Avishai and Swan.. I was counciled over those same damned ducks!!!! Why they felt the need to put in a duck pond that no one was supposed to look at... I'll never know!
I was also in trouble a couple times for swearing. Once I horribly offended a sister by saying that something "sucked" and another time my sister ratted on me for saying that I "screwed up" *gasp* the filth that came out of my f***en mouth!!!
I was also repeatedly hauled into the back room for not making my 90 hours a month as a pioneer.. maybe I would have done better now that they only have to get 70 hours a month, since my average was about 80

my sister told me the other day that at the end of june a friend of her's is moving to detroit and i will need to move out.
i was hurt at first but i understand why now.
she loves children but she has very little patience for them.
Come to Portland!! It's only a few hours from Seattle, so you can still do all the fun stuff up there. It's less expensive than Seattle. No sales tax, and you NEVER have to pump your own gas!!
We have great public transit. It does rain quite a bit, but you are close to skiing, hiking, lots of wilderness, and the beach is only a couple hours away. Portland is a great city.
And, of course, there is the Ex-JW community here to welcome you!
Think about it.....

Maybe if $ci-fi hadn't spent all it's money buying the rights to Stargate....
From what I hear they have already completely dismantled the sets, etc. for Farscape, I don't think there is any hope of it's continuing after this season.
Maybe I should find some way to fry a few brain cells so I can enjoy shows like Buffy the vampire Layer (sorry to any buffy fans)

Is it just me, getting old and all, or is there a severe shortage of good shows to watch these days? Farscape is the only show that I really feel i don't want to miss, the rest I can miss and not think twice about it. And, like FireFly, Farscape has been canceled, after this season it, too, will be history. The new Star Trek is alright, but not great. and most sitcoms have gone to hell (IMO)
Maybe it's just as well that I have things to do other than watch tv (like this board )

p.s. thanks BadJerry for posting on my thread, I was starting to feel sorry for myself
this last week has been very freaky for me.
last saturday i went to bed feeling just fine.
i woke up sunday morning with a very high fever, chills, headache, sick to my stomach, and i couldn't really stand up.
I am so glad you are ok! If you need anyone to run errands for you, or anything else.. let me know! I know it can be hard to ask for help, but please don't hesitate, even for things like washing dishes or running the vacuum. I am here for you!

I am definatly gonna have to work on being an optimist.. I can gain 15 years!
i was reading the february 15, 2003 wt which had an article on page 23 entitled "do not leave your child's heart to chance.
" on page 26 under the subheading "even from within the congregation.
" the wt overlords say: "although your teenage child appears to be in good spiritual health, inside he may be struggling with a divided heart.
Farkel, I relate to so much of what you said. The lack of holidays and birthdays and being embarassed during the flag salute.
Fortunatly (I think) much of my youth is vague. I don't really remember a lot of specifics. Maybe it just all ran together into one long boring meeting.
I remember in my late teens being sleep deprived. I was going to school and taking care of my siblings while mom worked, and working part time on the weekends and attempting to auxilary pioneer. ( I used to fall asleep in the car in service!)I never had a social life of any sort.
No, this is not a "poor me" post. More of a "hell yeah, JW kids are freaks" post
I don't really resent it, like Aztec, I realise that it made me who I am today, and I kinda like me.

I need to take advantage of the fact that I have two cats... I could have all kinds of fun, if these pictures are any indication!
