I think god's name is: TROLL
I like calling the air a name too. Maybe something with 7 syllables. Yeah, that's it.
I wonder what Anton LeVay called god?
another question for everyone.
i have read through some of the threads, posts or whatever and even though there is a sense of disagreement over witnesses and the society, their way of handling the words of the bible.
i was curious to know if anyone does believe jehovah is his name?

I know the format on this forum has changed, but I'm sure she could access it. Just hope she and her family are well.
Maybe she did become a Detroit Red Wing afterall.
If you are away Aztec, just want to know if all is well. Take care!
i've picked up a little bit about each of you since i've been here, but we're a reclusive little group, aren't we?

Cowboy, kindly accept my condolences at this time.
Wishing you well, with strength and integrity.
well on a lighter note,,,it looks like a june wedding is in the offing.
my wife and i gave our concent for our youngest daughter to marry so we will be putting on scottish garb and doing our parental thing.
love those bagpipes for weddings... one more to go.... caveman
Hey, I participated in something similar. My younger brother, he got married this past June. He had a Celtic wedding with bagpipes and anyone who had any lineage to Scotland, was decked out in kilts and so forth.
My brother wore the MacLeod(Mom's family name) tartan (there are many, but the one with yellow/black and some red), and his wife, a Sheppard, wore both her own tartan, and my brother's. It was quite nice.
Later, they had a pagan ceremony in a very secluded rural area of southwestern New Brunswick (Atlantic Canada). It was nice. But the flies!!!!!!!! - I was eaten alive by: mosquitoes, black flies, deerflies, horseflies and other blood sucking insects. The gathering was OK, but after being doused in Muskol, I started to get high on the fumes.
The pagan ceremony coincided with the Summer Solstice. They had some bizarre gathering down in the adjacent field, and it was interesting. I was too tired, I simply wanted to head back into town and get pizza. The gathering was an overnight affair with tents and so forth. It would have been OK, but I hadn't had much sleep, and the motel bed was obviously way more comfortable. After a few hours, my brothers and his friends had completed one of the donated kegs of locally brewed ale. Time to exit.
I'm sure Carmel (Caveman) your trip to Scotland and the wedding, will be wonderful. I've been to Scotland, and I had a wonderful time.
Best wishes to your younger daughter and her husband to be.
after one year of lurking i finally decided to write, introduce myself and tell my short story .
after being jw for more than 20 years, one year and 4 months ago, my husband read some news in internet.
it was the un affair.. i cant use any more words that have been already used to express what it ment to us to discover what we did.
Urpi, welcome to the forum.
As the word means: 'Dove', I hope you'll be as free as a dove in the times ahead.
Good for you for investigating matters related to the U.N. and the WTBTS. Gives you some major peace of mind and whole new perspective, doesn't it?
I hope you'll remain with us, and share with us your thoughts and feelings. I think you know by now it's a very diverse board/forum with a variety of opinions. As I have said before, a sense of humour will make your visit here enjoyable.
We won't df/da or anything like that. We'll ds you. What's that? Well, we'll probably desensitize you. No worries, not in a bad way, but you'll gain a freedom of thought here that will open your eyes to many things that have been hidden from you. The U.N. matter is only one, wait until you discover other stories and anecdotes on here. It even baffles me, and I've been out of the organization for almost 20 years.
Welcome Urpi.
i have two tattoos.
however there is one i would like to have removed.
has anyone had one removed before?
Hey Scumrat. Oh the proverbial unwanted tattoo.
Well, I am not sure where you are, but where I am, there are two things I have known and have encountered (people who have had both proceedures done).
First: the unwanted tattoo can be covered over by another tattoo. BUT...this will hurt like hell because the skin where the tattoo is, is super tender, yes...even after all these years.
Second: talk to your family physician, and enquire about having the tattoo removed surgically. If you are in Canada, I believe some of the provincial health care covers some/most or all of this proceedure. Check with your local provincial health care office. If you are in another country, it can be done surgically, but you may have to pay for that from your own pocket, or from your insurance company.
I know a couple of people who have either or both done. The covered over tattoo, looked fine. The surgically removed one....looked like nothing was ever there, but the skin looked different.
Not certain if that helps, but good luck with this if you intend to carry out either proceedure. Let me know what you plan to do, and/or how it goes.
Take care .
this topic came up on slashdot, where some of the replies were...interesting, to say the least.. what would you guys say to yourselves, if you could send your 12-year-old self a message?.
i know that was about the age i began to read really well, and only five years later i left "the truth", so it was a crucial point in my life, as it is in the lives of many...?.
"hello self, this is...yourself speaking.

Do not despair. There are people who like you, no matter what.
Convince myself that I was: handsome, smart and well mannered.
The changes happening to your body, happen to every young boy/man. It is normal, do not fret about it (1974).
Do not beat up on your younger brothers: they'll punch your lights out in a year or two.
Do not think of your father as someone you would like to be.
Remember what you wanted to be, when you grew up - and keep that hope fixed in your mind before someone in the family, again, discourages you, because they had a Grade 5 education.
Eat better.
LOOK AFTER YOUR TEETH
Spend quality time with both my grandfathers, they have great stories and lessons to tell.
hi all,,just found the site the other day and was quiet amazed, shocked and saddened all at once.
i guess thats expected when the wts organisation is run by humans, not abiding in various cases to the bible teaching.. its hearting to seen that so-called witnesses would treat their own/people is such manner as brought out on this site, to me they are not witnesses to jehovah, my family have gone through similar experiences where elders sought to make a mess out of nothing and cause grief to us that was not needed resulted in a dissoiation from the wts.. my family is now living the way they want to and not reflecting back on what occured there, i sleep easy at night knowing that thoses misleading will be judged and all have to render account to god.
i belive in the bible and even tho the wts screwed up on numerous accounts they still have the truth, other than other religions i know and looked in to.
Nitefire: welcome to the forum.
I hope you'll stick around, and not just a one-time only affair.
You'll find lots of diverse and well-informed participants on this forum. Some stuff, as you have noted, may be quite shocking, but at least here: we have nothing to hide.
The participants on here are helpful, have a wealth of information (scriptural/non-scriptural) as some of us do not hold the view that anything affiliated with the WTBTS is the 'truth'. So you'll encounter all sorts of ex-JWs on here. Be patient, don't get scared or freaked out. Over time you will see that many of the folks on here, are genuinely concerned and outspoken.
Welcome to the forum, and don't be afraid to post questions on here. Be prepared for some agreements/disagreements.
We even have a wild and wacky sense of humour .
The exit from the WTBTS is not an overnight affair, and much of their teachings remain in us for a very long time. Every minute/day/week/month and year away, changes our view, our feeling and view towards what we thought or believed it once was.
Take care Nitefire. Best regards to you.
a song i like inspires this post.
i hope the org.
is happy with all those elders that they have.
Wild Turkey, Rayzorblade sends a shot of bourbon your way ((toasting shot glasses))...this one is for you, me and all the rest of us on here who are Borgfree.
Cheers!!!
