i know many people who don't like cops and even give them all kinds of names.
some may be nice, but many think they are superior to the ordinary citizen.
i see so many doing radar on bottom of hills where automatically you will go over the speed limit.
They're people with a difficult job to do and I respect them for that. I know that they can't be there to protect me when I walk early in the morning so I got a concealed weapon carry permit. All my cop friends agreed it was a good idea. Now they insist that I show up at the gun range to practice, practice, practice.
I was driving through Oro Valley, Arizona one morning and was stopped by a motorcycle cop who thought I was transporting marijuana. I let him look through the car and he was satisfied that it was clean. People tell me that I'm one of the few that they let go without a ticket as the OV cops are noted for being super ticket writers....I think they're supporting the whole town on tickets.
a number of weeks ago, i mentioned how my niece was seeking reinstatement.
well, after all was said and done, the elders allowed her back in.
my brother and his wife were giving her a little "coming back" party with about a total of 35 guests.
Keeping people so apart from each other in social situations constrasts so sharply with the WTS pictures in their publications of people gathered together in a picnic setting...all smiling and having a good time. Geez! You'd think the average dub would wonder out loud why they can't participate in such fellowship now....after all, aren't they supposed to be the "New World Society"???
I suspect that the Borg fears that the average rank and file dub would learn a lot from talking to their fellow dubs and comparing notes....Revelation indeed! Better to keep everyone separated and only allow mixing together at the KH where the elders can monitor them carefully.

Hi Valis; I once tried fly fishing....caught a nice cottonwood tree. Very hard to clean and getting it into the frying pan was very difficult.
And didja ever try to CLEAN A FLY???? They don't fillet worth a darn. Think I'll go to Long John Silver's for the catch of the day. No wings, please

my computer died on may 30th and i just got it back from the shop today.
theres no way that i'll be able to catch up on all the great news on the forum....when ya get older, ya read slower.. the fan quit on the laptop and i shut it down before it could fry the chips....still it cost an arm and a leg to get it running again.
dell is a pain in the butt when it comes to selling parts to repair shops.. i've missed all of you and i see that there are a good many new members since i went quiet.

i hope that some of the smarter folks on this board can give me some information as to what scriptural basis the wts uses to claim that god does not take any part in protecting his people in the last days.. in a discussion with a couple of elders who came to my door, i mentioned that god's holy spirit kept the organization clean in the first century after christ's death...acts 5:1-11. one of the elders said that god doesn't do that anymore but couldn't come up with a definitive answer.
if christ is directing their organization why can't he use his powers or those of the angels with him to keep the pedophiles out?

What sent the elders packing was reminding them that the account of Acts 5 took place during the 'appointed times of the nations' when God supposedly didn't have a visible organization on the earth. If, as they say, Jesus returned in 1914 and his arrival marked the end of the 'appointed times of the nations' then he should have had even greater power than that manifested during the first century. If, as they say, he inspected and cleansed his organization in 1918/1919, he would have made sure it stayed clean if only to protect his fathers name.
Ya gotta admire their convoluted rationalizations....I still don't know how they manage to keep their stories straight!
Just had to gig 'em a little when they said that the newspaper accounts of pedophilia in the org was exaggerated and sensationalized....I asked them what issue of the Watchtower condemned the media when the media reported the scandal in the Catholic church. No comment from the company boys.
