  Do You Feel That You Were Brainwashed Into Becoming A JW?

  many comments are made that jw's are actually brainwashed.

  do you think this is true?

  My daughter was lured into JW by her then boyfriend.There was, without a doubt some sort of "mind control" used on her with the help of her boyfriend, now husband. He himself was controlling long before they were married.

  The JWs, in the indoctrination, must stress the importance of not believing what other people outside the org. say. My daughter learned this very well as she lost complete confidence in what the rest of the family said, especially, me , her father. I suppose I was designated the biggest threat to her by the instructors in the organization.

  She now, is in Patterson and has been there for several years. Being there gives her the maximum exposure to all the mind control offered. She does not want any children, which I assume is a product and indication of the amount of control they have on her life. Judging from past experiences of the people that experienced the 1914 thing, they too, in many cases did not have children in preparation for Armagedden.

  Jws don't like to be referenced as "Cults" and being "Brainwashed". These are bad words to them.

  I believe there are mental bombs that must go off in their brains to awake them to the reality of the situation there are in. That, of course must come from within themselves.

  unfortuneately, i tried to copy the information and for some reason it would not print.

  i then posted another message explaining this delema.

  Does anyone know the why and wherefore of the change to the Bible where the NWT has "Jehovah" substituting all other descriptions of God, such as savior, lord etc.

  Critique volunteers for letter to the Society?

  i have finally completed my letter to the society and am looking for a few volunteers to help critique it.

  by suggestion from the elders, they said to keep it simple and to the point(one said to just bullet my questions and leave it at that).

  well, i veered slightly off from those two parameters a bit but i had to do so to make my points clear.

  I understand that the JW Bible was based on the King James Version. Is there a thread where I can obtain all the changes that were made to the KJV.

  Daughter still in Patterson

  my daughter was cohersed to marry her present husband and they moved to patterson to do what ever they do there.

  it realy affected the family, particularly me.

  i was wondering if there is anyone who reads these messages knows my daughter.

  As is the ritual in our family, we all get together at Christmastime, minus my youngest daughter. We have family coming from all parts of the continent and a good time is had by all.

  She has some sort of a JW meeting here in California and she comes to see her friends at that time. If she has the time she will come to our house. Unfortunately, it is not all that pleasant. She comes here with her husband, whom I have no use for.(obviously) This event is in the fall sometime.

  So far there are no discussions in the area of WT. She does not bring it up and neither do we. Sometimes I would just like to grab her by the shoulders and give her a good shaking. How an intelligent person can go along in life this way is totally baffling to me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  I would stick with the don't ask don't tell ......attitude. If this works to keep the family intact, that s the way to go. Watch out however, he may be setting you up for a trap that would force the issue and break up your family anyway. Be strong and stick to your guns.

  The UN being done away with - Religion banned worldwide

  if you believe that the governments of the world will really say "ok un we have had enough of you go away" then your a nutter.

  i can always see a need for the un to be in place even if their sole duty is to help struggling countries put themselves together again.

  if the un was done away with (and lets face it, does that really seem likely ?

  Armagedden will come, but it has nothing to do with GOD. Destruction of this earth as we know it will be natural, Explosion via volcano (a realy big one we have never witnessed) or the most obvious a meteor from outer space.We all won't die but the event and the after effects will whipe out most of the population. Before that happens, we will have other catastrophes such as disease, famine, wars and such which only make a small dent in the population. Many of the religious people will probably think it is the end. Throughout the history of these small dents, a Jesus Christ will appear to revolutionize the thinking of the masses.

  How's that for a little common sense?
