My daughter is in Patterson. I suppose being in this enviornment my daughter will never reach that "Magic Moment" in her life. Her hubby is very controlling and by all indications she is not allowed to think for herself, and she ssems to be happy with that. Being "Worldly" is not part of the JW doctrines. Quite the opposite seems to be the norm.

Magic moment
by Phil infor all the persons that have been lured into the jw organization i was wondering if there is a magic age level or maximum exposure time where such a person comes to the realization that what he /she has been filled with information and doctrine that only hurts families and is the major cause of their breakup with their families.
i have seen some people that have come to the realizationaround the age of 40. would this be the age of realization?
is it something else?

I am looking for the best common thread I can find so I can trigger something in my daughters mind to get her to think a little. Just a little short of hitting her on the head with it.

Was there a single item that stands out. Something that triggered your mind to slide away from the borg

A Muslim thinks JW's are a Menace to them
by ICBehindtheCurtain inhey guys, i found the following to be quite interesting, they have some great links to jw literature, maybe this will help the lurkers to see that the house to house preaching waste of time, is pretty redundant as many religious people are now wise to the fallacy of the borg.
what to you guys think?.

The reason that Muslims do not like JWs is that they ae alike. What do you think will happen to a member of the Islam faith marries a person of another faith. In some countries the person will be stoned to death. Particularly if it happens to be a woman. Shunning, big time.

has your language changed since you left?
by fullofdoubtnow ini know mine has.
i went back to my flat earlier this afternoon to pick some things up, i am moving out of there slowly, and was carrying a heavy box out to my car when i stumbled and dropped it on my foot.
it wasn't too painful, thankfully, but i came out with a stream of expletives, most of them beginning with f. when i was a jw, even thinking those words would have filled me with shame.

Anyone who curses and swears because they have left the JW organization still have some problems. Having left the org. can be a difficult and painful is the proper thing to do to gain your freedom, however , taking up a foul vocabulary because is not very wise. Retaining control of your life includes using proper vocabulary to express yourself in a suitable manner as to not affect your family, friends as well as the people around you. You have gained in one area and lost in another area. Using foul language is nothing to be proud of.

When a child who joins the JWs and shuns their parents, that action is very close to having your child die. I know. I would call it a milder form of murder for the parents.

If you were God, would you want to be worshipped?
by rebel8 inif i was the god of the bible, i think my priorities would be to set the ground rules of life and manage the planet, ensuring life is good.
i cannot envision any reason to desire worship.
appreciation, yes.

Velly intellesting!
Worshipping God helps the members of religious groups who expect salvation at some point in time. Afterlife.
Each individual has been provided with a brain and no two are alike. Of the 35000 or so religions on earth, each one does this worshipping thing to satisfy their own need. Many of us do not have that need. However I have read that the religious people are a happier lot, so they say. THe desire and the need to worship is solely for the benefit of the worshipper, no one else. God does not know who is and who is not worshipping nor does he care.

What Do Un-Believers Not Believe?
by mensa163 inone of the things that used to annoy me in the new testament was the "believe in jesus" message.
any explainations seemed fuzzy at best so i decided to take a run at it from behind and find the definintion of an un-believer.here is what i came up with and i welcome other opinions.
many of the people around jesus were jews, they walked with him, talked with him, listened to his teachings and witnessed his miracles.
