My 71st Birthday Confessional
by TerryWalstrom ini was born january 15, 1947in mt.
carmel hospital, detroit, michigan.. within six months of my birth, my mother would bundle her baby boy into a blanket and board an american airlines propeller-driven plane--in effect, leaving my father behind--to return to her hometown, ft. worth, texas.. my dad had an excellent job working for cadillac as an inspector.
it was a union job.

I am giving everyone on the board...
by The Rebel ina new commadment to the posting guidelines.
we must love one another.. if i read the posting guidelines and saw the lurking presence of that new commadment " we must love one another" i would feel very uneasy about registering.
it sounds more like a threat than an expression of love.

Do not enjoy life now!
by life is to short inok so i was stupid and looked at the text for today, i do not know why i did it.
i lost a couple of brain cells and put myself into an even deeper depression over it.
it was just that my husband had it out and i thought what can it hurt, wondering what they are up to.

I don't really think about God anymore - locked it away in a mental box. But when I left the JW cult I searched for a belief that comforted me spiritually and I found Wayne Jacobsen's words comforting and have read a few of his books.
https://www.lifestream.org/lifestream-update-fall-2016/
"What if it were true that you delight God’s heart even more today than I delight in my grandkids? What would it change in you if you truly believed it. Somehow God finds us humans quite endearing, even when we are lost in the pain and brokenness of a fallen world. He delights in you even in the midst of your doubts, fears, temptations, and failures. He does not see us as the summation of our brokenness, but as the person he made you to be that is being swallowed by those other things.
He delights in you, not in what you do! And he knows that the more you enjoy him, the more you’ll find freedom from the things that twist you. Transformation grows out of our knowing that God enjoys us and that we can enjoy him as a gracious Father."
Jacobsen does expound on this a lot more in one of his books. If there was a god then I imagined He would be like this and not such a demanding person that the Watchtower is making him out to be. Watchtower is cruel and devil-like in their actions and seek to tear people down emotionally and not build them up. They don't represent God at all.

I want to go on a working holiday visa to australia, im 19 years old and cannot hold my focus in uni because i was depressed but now mended
by AmIright inso i finished my final year and was forced to attend university even though i was in a crippling depression in my final year, dropped out but attained a high enough mark to get my first choice in uni.
long story short, i wanted to go travelling before uni to broaden my perspective and for a chance to be free and travel australia.
however i'm only 19 with experience in mostly farming and small company manufacturing i don't think i would be equip to get a job to sustain my travel.

A world without religion? Any different?
by punkofnice ini wonder what it would be like, without any religion in the world?
i don't think it would be like 'imagine' by lennon.. i don't believe it will ever happen.
even if it did, people are the same.

JW's Funerals, Forget About The Person! Let's Preach.
by new boy ingod forbid you would talk about the dead person at his funeral.
so what do most people get after living 70-80 years?.
a 5-10 minutes eulogy.

My grandma insists that her funeral talk is to be a fine witness- she's already written what she wants said (it is mostly JW stuff). She thinks that when she dies and the hundreds of 'worldly' people and family who will attend her funeral and listen to what she says, having been divinely inspired by her faith will all turn around and be baptised as JW's. -

Don't the scriptures tell us to be imitators of Christ? If he had a beard shouldn't we imitate him also by growing a beard? (I so wish it wasn't socially unacceptable for a woman to have a beard, I could finally let my facial hairs go crazy) -

Meanwhile, every one living and working at Warwick will develop tumours and cancers from the toxins left over in the ground and will be too sick to write any more publications...
