The eldaaaars again!!
by ILoveTTATT inafter two months of not coming to my house, today about two hours ago, one of the elders that came two months ago came to my house.
he was in serve-us with other brothers from the spanish cong and came into my house with a friend of mine (not another elder).
he said he wanted to talk to me, and he said it in front of my mom and my dad (both were there).. what was interesting is that it seems like it will be a one-on-one for half-hour.

WT ain't going out of business.
by joe134cd ini've heard this said in other posts, so now i'm going to combine it in one post.. the $28 million awarded to conti is only drop in the bucket for what they are worth.. there would have to be 100 s of successful sex abuse law suites before they would feel it.
quite frankly i don't reckon there would be enough with the right circumstances to have a successful case against wt.
having a dozen or so cases isn't going to break the bank.

Has the Conti case gotten much press outside of ex jdub land?

Any problems with AAWA.CO
by BackSlider ini'm just wondering if there are things i should worry about when it comes to aawa.co?.
they seem to have good objectives and goals.
i signed their petition on the change.org site regarding the watchtower's abuse techniques.. just wondering.

Who is easier to indoctrinate, men or women?
by kneehighmiah infrom purely anecdotal evidence, i believe women are more indoctrinated on average.
i can openly disagree with the governing body with men and it results in a discussion however, most women i've talked to have immediately shut me down by ending the conversation.
the only person currently shunning me is a woman.

Gladiator and Cofty.... ummm sexist, a bit? Let's try to at least make smart comments when discussing gender and religion. Sheesh!

Do a search in the box above for AAWA. you'll find enough information to satisfy you.

I see your position about lying, Oh Gawd. So maybe he doesn't say that he's at work. Maybe he can just say, I don't want to meet after all. But here's the thing-- you have the privilege of NOT being a jw and dealing with a family of jws who are basically a sack of liars (I'm summarizing your first post on jwn). That said, ILTTATT is not in that position. He's trying to keep his family together. Idk why he agreed to meet in the first place. Standard procedure should be evade, evade, evade . Anyways, he didn't do that. But he can still choose to evade, evade, evade. I don't think he's prepared to deal with losing his family.

Nahhhhh I wouldn't listen to Oh Gawd
If you don't want to talk, then don't. Stand him up and blame it on work. What's there to think about? And if he asks your parents, you tell them both the same story-- WORK.
Remember, you don't owe them anything.

Cofty-- what was the point of citing those apcrypha scriptures? You post with no explanation. I'd love to hear how you think those texts have to do with this thread. Thanks....

Interesting comment-- women long for justice more than men do... Well, I'm not sure that's true. Of course, ppl get upset wgen someone generalizes on such a large scale. But from my own experience, listening to my soon-to-be-ex talk while he was still in the Borg, he expressed a lot of sympathy, concern, and love for those that suffered from injustice. Many times we'd listen to the news and comment on the condition of many in the wprld today Perhaps it was the same ol' jw thinking-- oh, the world is in such disarray! The end is near!-- but I also feel tht he had a heart about such matters. It was his empathy for others that attracted me to him in the first place.....
