Keyser,
I don't mind others on the highway as long as they get out of my way. People who drive slow in the fast lane and won't move over or speed up. That slays me.
this thread is for you to vent about anything (within guidelines) that you want.. i'll start.. i'm sick of people who complain about how cold the weather is and then you have two 85 degree days and now they can't wait till autumn!.

robert j ingersoll on the great voltaire:.
"it has been claimed by the christian critics that voltaire was irreverent; that he examined sacred things without solemnity; that he refused to remove his shoes in the presence of the burning bush; that he smiled at the geology of moses, the astronomical ideas of joshua, and that the biography of jonah filled him with laughter.
they say that these stories, these sacred impossibilities, these inspired falsehoods, should be read and studied with a believing mind in humbleness of spirit; that they should be examined prayerfully, asking god at the same time to give us strength to triumph over the conclusions of our reason.
Such hypocrisy from a self appointed GB who wrote this a week or two ago:
"Obama speaks as The Great Whore."
So you would shove your conscience down our throats, huh Scot? You ARE the GB.
i am still in, and as my name says "stuckinarut"...now i know it is not the truth, i know it for a fact...but im so messed up with a wash of hundreds of thoughts that i cant seem to get my head in order.. i thought i had my head clear and my 'sh1t together' so to speak....but ..... im sure you know what i mean?
when there are so many reasons and facts proving ttatt, but if asked to make a list in bullet points now, i would get so overwhelmed....i just dont know where to start.
i feel like i would be like a balloon let go flying around the room in all directions trying to 'spew' out the facts!.
TTATT and Giordano,
Ditto. My last few years in the Borg several of us would make fun of the controlling language and suggest possible WT articles based on how they would attempt to control the sheeple with loaded questions, nouns and adjectives. The last few months of my Borgian existence the control was no longer fun; it made we want to vomit.
on the basis that most of us realise the w.t wasnt really the best " job" or way to spend our days, it would be fun to find out what people would really have liked to have done with there lifes and if this is still possible.
or maybe its not even a very realistic ambition just a dream.
in my dreams i stay at home all day and make a living from being a professional artist.maybe i need a phycholgist?.
I would take over for Mr. Hefner.

Stuck,
I get what you are trying to do, but developing a spread sheet, IMHO, will simply wear out your brain matter. The Borg will always have something in their doctrine whine will attract you or make you go 'hmmmm.'
I closed the door completely and quickly based on 4 things:
1. The GB does not and never has had any special knowledge. All of their prophecies have failed miserably and their history is replete with ridiculousness.
2. The bible isn't and never has been the inspired word of god.
3. The Borg destroys families.
4. The Borg robs individual choices/freedoms/consciences from its followers.
The minutae and details were krink kronk. Insignificant. That's all I needed.
fusion with god natural .
in the cosmos universe or whatever.
all things are made of the same materials etc so humans will always be fused with the universe in life and death because those building blocks are eternal.
Thought comes first? Really? On a purely sequential level that is correct. But billions of people have believed based on nothing more than an emotional response to a 'miracle' or some other unexplained phenomenon. Or to some motivational speech by a preacher or president. Very little real 'thought' went into their beliefs. Emotions and beliefs are more closely related than are thoughts and beliefs. Religious and political leaders have known this for thousands of years. Appealing to base emotions makes true believers. Only those who think, explore and gain an in-depth knowledge can escape traps or develop understanding. Religion is an opiate for the masses, as it enables believers to rely on feelings and emotions rather than tax their gray matter to actually figure things out. Or they control knowledge, as did the Catholic church for hundreds of years and the Borg continues to do.
This in part explains why atheists - and secular/atheists societies - typically have more education and higher IQs than theists and religious socieities. Predicatably.

Scotoma,
You have made your point repeatedly, and few are agreeing with you. I think we all believe there should be limits and a bit of decorum, but unless you know exactly which words and phrases we can use, what is your point in beating on this? I think the level of ridicule and mocking is just about right. Some may want more, some less.
As I mentioned, a number of us referred to the WT as the Borg, jokingly, when I was in the Borg. I continue to use the term, like a lot of others, because it fits. And it's funny. Is that mock and ridicule? Or simply humor? But by all means, keep on beating this thread to death until you get your way - or one or two others agree with you. Will that make you feel better?
how educated are you?
and how great is your vocabularly ect ....?.
do you think ir right to judge people by how intelligent/ educated they are and how much vocabulary they use???.
Oh Gawd, Caedes,
Nice posts. Thanks.

I think you and one or two others have made your point. Most have disagreed with you. Since this is a conscience/censorhip/freedom of expression issue, move on. You are free to do as you wish.

Apog,
Then that is what you should do.
