Biblical Prohecies That Came True?

recently there have been several claims made regarding prophecies that came true.

i've not personally seen a prophecy that i would consider as having come true.

i would consider the following as the requirements to say something is a prophecy and evaluate whether or not it came true:.

That is pure and utter bullshit. We have repeatedly cited very good empirical evidence which suggests the more secular and atheistic a state, region or nation the more likely it is to be functional, ethical and contented. Either you can't read, you haven't read it or you are simply brain dead. And your analogy using ISIS? They do what they do because of god - the same god more or less that you worship.

MJ, needing a make believe godlike personage in order to behave is weak. Humans are capable of doing the right thing for no other reason than it is the right thing. Only by continuing to do so will we evolve as a species. The right thing doesn't require a carrot (heaven, paradise) or a stick (destruction, torment).

Those are antiquated, neanderthalic notions. Welcome to the 21st century.

Moral compass, ADJUSTMENTS, hasn't a thing to do with immature, childish, reacitonary behavior, which is what you have specialized in with this OP. Keep your moral compass. To yourself preferably. All of us know quite well the history of the Borg when it concerns having fun of any kind. Point out the hypocrisy, but the rest of it is much ado about nothing, as the overwhelming majority have pointed out to you. But by all means remain childishly entrenched. This is the world wide web; someone will come along and make you feel better about yourself, regardless of the level of dumbassedness associated with your views. I will say one thing; when you pitch a big fit at least you do so WITH A LARGE AUDIENCE. Caps intentional to make a point.

Ditto to your thoughts on this thread. I've tried to avoid it, as I do all threads with the politicallly entrenched, conspiracy theorists and those with OCD. The Muslim extremists have been trying diligently to attack US soil since 9/11. Since they have had little success, other than 'home grown' Boston bombers, it shows that attacking the US isn't so easy. Friendly neighbors and two oceans will do that for you.

Still, of course they will keep trying. How successful will they be? No one can say with any certainty. But there are a lot of ridiculous statements being made based on conspiracy theorist websites/spokespersons, political spinning from those who hate Obama and the rabid anti-whatevers with OCD. If I was looking for a target rich enviornment for dumbass, reactionary, irrational, sometimes hysterical defnitive statements about something for which most posters have very little actual knowledge, I've certainly come to the right place.

He was underlining the support of the United States for West Germany 22 months after Soviet-supported East Germany erected the Berlin Wall to prevent mass emigration to the West. Obama's Muslim statements, llike it or not, is his attempt to reach out to the Muslim world, find common ground, and show them that the US is not their sworn enemy. Does he sometimes stumble over words? Duh. But one of his objectives was to try to 'fix' or heal some of that rift caused by so many US wars waged in Muslim countries. That is a noble objective. How successful? Who knows. But to criticize him for those statements, or even worse to insinuate that he is part of the Musllim Brotherhood, or some Muslim conspiracy, is ridiculous. He should not be ashamed of his Muslim heritage any more than he should be ashamed of his Christian heritage.

Obama is first and foremost a politician. Shocking. Just like Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, etc. before him. He is more of a compromiser and pragmatist than some and seeks to build bridges rather than burn (bomb) them. He is inclusive rather than exclusive (Designs said it welll). As a result he will sometimes look weak, but a hawkish president who won't consider alternatives other than bombs and bullets is better???? I'm with Metatron on this (did I just say that??).

I'm apolitical; I'm for my president regardless of which party he represents. The spin nauseates me.

This OP is a disaster from the beginning. It should have ended with Island Man's very kind and accurate response: "ADJUSTMENTS, I totally agree with lurkernomore, Zoos and steve2. I can understand that you may have been hurt badly by the teachings and policies of the religion, but you need to try hard not to let your hatred/hurt cloud your judgment, causinig you to look for evil in every action of every GB member. If anything, that video only served to prove that Jackson is not a worldly party animal as evidenced by his poor dancing skills. Sexual gyrating? Really? "

Most everyone has agreed with Island Man, and yet you remain arroganly and childishly entrenched, launching personal attacks against those who disagree with you. We have had a run of those this week. First, Inbyathread, then Coded Logic and now you. Dumbass OPs followed by mostly kind disagreements and deconstructions of the premise, resulting in entrenched, arrogant, childish responses from the owners of the OP.

Attack me if that makes you feel big. You evidently need something. The great thing about this site is you can research everyone's posting history. I'm one of the most open minded, non-judgmental and liberal members. I've gotten into more arguments supporting gays, masturbators, gay marriage, those wrongly accused or those who seek to rush to judgment against others, including current memberes of the Borg, by making this a kangaroo court. I also loathe the GB and everything they stand for. But I see no wrong in the video, and attempts to 'read' darkness into it suggests the major problem is in the interpreters.

But your response is predictable. By all means continue. You are making it easy on the rest of us to know what to expect for the rest of your OPs and comments and try to avoid you when possible.

My points to you were spot on, without defect. I did exaggerate a bit about the 'great many' being everyone but you, but my hyperbole was intended to make you think. Obviously you missed that point. I'm a lot of things. Cute is not one of them. You probably aren't capable of tying my shoelaces. Again, everything I stated to you was spot on. Learn from it, and others such as Bohm. Or don't and continue to present yourself as an arrogant jerk.

You insulted almost everyone on this site; your presentation skills suck. You drew conclusions without supporting evidence and made definitive statements, again, without evidence. That falls into the dumbass category. I was nice the first time. I won't be again. There are a lot of highly intelligent and highly educated people on this site; you don't appear to be one of them.

I think I understand what you are trying to accomplish. When I first came on the site a year ago I was amazed at the lack of understanding that many had about simple debating skills. Debates are about two things: facts and the correct interpretation (logic) associated with those facts. Anything that isn't about those two things is a tactic or an irrational, emotional response.

You kinda sorta violated your own OP in your opening sentence, which is possibly why some have responded as they have. Note:

"Great many" is offensive and an irrational, likely unsupported by the facts, statement. Great many means kinda sorta everyone but you.

And you made definitive 'conclusions' about why the great many are responding as you describe, that they "think that since they figured out TTATT, they must therefore be a highly intelligent and incredibly rational individual." That's an unsupported, likely erroneous, definitive statement. Have you any data which supports such a definitive statement?

So don't be surprised that a 'great many' haven't responded in a touchy feeling manner. Your presentation skills can stand some improvement. I agree with you that a lack of understanding about what constitutes debate and how to logically construct or de-construct an argument need some assistance, but your presentation failed to adequately provide it.
