  jessica tidwell arrived in nairobi ready to heroically preach the gospel to destitute, half-naked peasants, living in mud huts and covered in "bug bites".. when she discovered that nairobi was in fact a prosperous, modern city with people in expensive clothes buying food and electronic goods in shopping malls, she was dejected and said so in her missionary blog.. the comments section below her blog entry is well worth a read.... here is bob marley's take on self-centred western christian missionaries.. "we're going to chase those crazy baldheads out of town".

  Thanks for this. Those damned Kenyans and their prosperity. Apparently they learned how to grow their own rice.
  

  I see a similar pattern with a lot who come on this site. Although their irritation is about us mean ole rational atheists rather than prosperity, the root cause analysis is the same. They were not able to make this their own personal planned pulpit of pious, preaching, proselytizing, prophesying and pontificating in what they thought would be the fertile grounds full of post-Borgian lost souls who would all be amazed by their special knowledge and immediately bow to them as savior and sage.

  GoodHousekeeping Magazine, Toilet Paper Manufacturers and Hotels say over, so the overwhelming consensus from those that appear to matter is over. Why not compromise? You get it your way one roll; she gets it her way one roll. Or, you can ditch the horizontal configuration and go to a vertical one, which solves your problem.

  It doesn't however, solve your bigger problem; why are you arguing with your GF on this or really any other matter. If mama ain't happy; nobody's happy. Plus, you just may want to see her naked again. Frequently. She's the relationship equivalent of a Wookie. Let the Wookie win.

  currently there is a measles outbreak in the u.s. the outbreak is clustered into communities where parents choose not to get their children vaccinated.

  vaccination works primarily on herd immunity.

  If Cedars had been prepared to ask such important questions and had asked them, regardless of the GB's response, it would have at least appeared to be journalistic and potentially revealing. As he has shown, it was a prank call from the laundry room; his marketing niche is clearly sophomoric males in the 14 - 28 year age group. Sorta like Hardee's/Carl's Burger joint commercials. But at least those have half naked hot girls.

  This is almost completely about Cedars' ego and narcissism and almost nothing about the Dark Lords.

  Different strokes, attaching a 'modern' label to it is also childish and immature. I'm modern in most every way, but this type of behavior towards a leader of a religion, company, etc. is sophomoric, juvenile and counter productive. I can't imagine anything good coming from this nonsense that will benefit the rank and file Dubs, the anti-JW movement or that will make the Dark Lords soften their hate-filled vitriolic teachings.

  Most humans, when confronted with data that they are wrong, simply become entrenched. We see it on this site everyday. And these are normal humans (with the noted exceptions for the self appointed delusional new GB members or the traveling proselytizing, preaching, pious, and pontificating who routinely show up).

  Since these men are about to sit at god's right hand and rule over the universe, the chance that any such prankish acts can touch their hearts is infinitesimally small. Nonexistent. The GB member will simply dust it off and continue to remind himself that he is the elite of the elite, and Cedars and those like him are apostates deserving of death.

  Curious how today's JWs view the anti-vaxxer movement

  i wonder how the average jw in our modern world views the new anti-vaxxer movement.

  do they sympathize, agree - or - see them as kooky, out of touch, nutso - or - somewhere in between.. remember, back in the olden, golden days...or should i say, the golden age, the wts took a hard line stance against vaccinations.

  Curiously in the US, the anti-vaccination movement has been spearheaded by the educated and the elite, which is exactly opposite from those opposed to vaccines in 3rd world countries, who typically are the least educated and the superstitious.

  A discredited 1998 study by a British doctor along with a decade long campaign of hysteria waged by Playmate Jenny McCarthy have fueled the anti-vaxxers. Jenny should stick to showing her boobs instead of being one.

  an oregon bakery that refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex marriage has lost its appeal..... the judge has ordered 'sweet cakes by melissa' to pay $150 000 damages to rachel and laurel bowman-cryer.. discrimination is illegal, and religious superstition is not an excuse.

  Yeah, I saw that in the news and expected it would be someone like that. A business has a right to establish policies based on legitimate business interests. A policy against hate speech would almost  certainly be supported by the courts as a legitimate business interest. The NFL, NBA, Duck Dynasty, etc. have anti-hate speech policies which have been vetted and withstood legal scrutiny. This idiot is wasting everyone's time.
