Nethanyahu speach to US Congress - not in sync with NRA position on weapons

i don't quite understand why mr. nethanyahu is so fearful if iran or other nations have nuclear weapons.

as the nra espouses, the more people are armed and the more weapons on the street, then the safer we should feel.

we all should have the right to protect ourselves.

Much of Netanyahu's speech was simply rhetoric, such as his comments regarding Iran 'gobbling' up other nations. As if many other nations aren't trying to spread their own zone of influence.

However, Iranian leaders have made several statements about destroying the Zionist regime. If someone wanted to purchase a weapon for the sole or primary purpose of killing your family, which they had made public, RubaDub, you would probably be trying to get someone's attention who could thwart the attempt.

Iranian leaders have made several statements about wiping the Israelis off the map. If you were the leader of Israel you would be doing the same thing.

We have talked about in previous OPs that the advantage the Chinese have had for many years in labor costs is very quickly coming to an end for the low cost/low profit margin manufacturing sector. In other words, at the current pace of wages and benefits, China could lose this advantage within a couple of years, making it feasible for consumer countries to look elsewhere or start their own manufacturing. Higher wages and benefits can be offset to a large degree by increased productivity, but their factories have likely seen those capabilities maxed out.

Their entry into the durable goods marketplace almost certainly is buoyed right now by that same wage advantage, and they probably have 10 - 15 years or so to maintain that advantage in that market. By moving the low cost/profit manufacturing sector to the agrarians, who would work for much less than the current Chinese workers who are gaining sophistication and a consumer mentality, they can extend that advantage in labor costs in the lower end consumer goods market out for many years.

The Chinese have good economists. Given what they have to work with, they are making a lot of smart moves.

This is part of China's long term strategy to develop a trade based system that more closely resembles the German model. In order to bring as many of its citizens into the economic system within a reasonable period of time, they simply cannot detour from their trade first model. Having said that, the German model (higher end goods with a higher profit margin and typically less susceptible to recessions) is being embraced. That doesn't mean that China will end the low cost/margin manufacturing and exporting. It will likely be their primary thrust for a long time.

The educated workers can easily move into the higher tech/durable goods jobs, while the uneducated agrarians are likely targeted as replacements/backfills. We are likely to see factories re-located to the agrian areas, if it hasn't already started. They are building the infrastructure to make it occur.

Not a bad model, actually. Their GDP is heavily reliant on exports; internal consumer consumption isn't high or stable enough to allow a spreading of the wealth, not yet at least. Government spending/investment as part of their GDP has risen sharply since the Great Recession started, which is a Keynsian model that has worked fairly well for them.

The Chinese leaders know quite well that an export driven GDP/economic model is problematic, but they have few other choices. All things considered, I give them an A- to this point. Real problems loom on the horizon, but I am pulling for them.

Please Focus on the Bible

hi people, may i firstly thank those who have responded to to my intro article, i am replying to you all as a new topic because the direct messaging is not working for me at the moment so i can clarify my perspective on bible study.

yes there are many arguments that are put forward to demonstrate for example that the bible has been composed of numerous preexisting creation story's ect, my focus is to give the bible the same opportunity to defend itself as anyone reasonably expects if charged with some crime they are not guilty of.. i find for example the account of jesus response when questioned about the divorce certificate 'but it was not so in the beginning' confirms that moses allowed changes to be made to the original, that said consider also the religious traditions moses people had been exposed to, the story of the god enki who seduced even his own grandchildren and the well known incest of the egyptian royalty, given the genetic cost, are such practices any more right now than they were then?

communities that practice close relative marriages today are well documented for there higher risk of numerous health problems so how would you find moses on that basis, guilty or not guilty as jesus did because he understood why moses took the creation story's of other cultures and gave his people there own creation story that taught them to avoid the general pagan practice of incest.before looking any deeper at moses creation story may i also ask the question why does jesus knowing that god promised he would never again destroy the world by a flood as he did in noah's day say 'as in the days of noah ..the flood came and took them all away' so what did jesus actually mean mt 24:.

Is there a limit in the UK for lawsuits of this type? £ 500,000 isn't that much, about 750,000 US dollars if my conversion is accurate. In the US I would expect this lawsuit to be in the $10,000,0000 range, especially considering her age at the alleged abuse. Am I missing something here my British friends? The US is too litigious, but, if the circumstances are as she suggests, this is a pittance to request.

First of all, I thought you were leaving Richard Nixon. Second, as I've pointed out before, your obsessive focus on what you perceive to be the problems of today while completely ignoring 100,000 years of human history is comedic.

Until the year 1900, the average age of humans, based on what the experts say, was 34. There was no social security, disability, food stamps, welfare, workers comp, health insurance, or unemployment benefits. Many children died before the age of 5, and it was more than possible that your young spouse or young adult child would also die, from pneumonia, TB or a host of other illnesses which are readily treatable now.

And those who lived past 34, for 100,00 years Abiathar, limped or were lame if anything was broken and were disfigured or otherwise impaired by anything growing on them or in them.

What kind of stress do you think our ancestors experienced for 100,00 years? You focus on the stresses today as if they are much worse. Really? I mean, really?

And I will ask you again, which time period would you choose to live in other than right now?
