Which is one of the reasons they may be liquidated. If the state determines that such teachings are hate speech and detrimental to the well being of the state it has a right to limit such teachings. Child sacrifice wouldn't be allowed by any modern government, for example. So the argument that no religion, regardless of how pathetic, should be banned is specious. Sounds good but patently false and erroneous.

I expect more of these types of laws in the future and not just with Mother Russia. DFing and shunning, for example, can easily be shown to be counter to a state's interests since shunning almost certainly increases the usage of state funds for medical and mental health costs, drug and dependency counseling, not to mention broken families and the resulting $ and sociological costs to a society.

Let it come. Liquidate them and all that are like them.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

This is identical to what we all experienced one or two decades ago. A lot of elders get off on becoming amateur sleuthsand others get off on thinking they are keeping the cong. clean.

Makes me want to projectile vomit.

Of course when your entire org is based on a never ending litany of pharisaical rules, regulations and dogma, all supported either directly or complicity by the Dark Lords, this is exactly what you end up with.

so here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.

anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.

and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

Every person that exits this hate filled cult and who shows up on this site is meticulously concerned about how they manage their fade, which tells me the Dark Tower is still the Dark Tower. So when I was an elder hasn't anything to do with this.

If you live around very sweet, kind, disengaged, affable, dim witted elders who will overlook any an all transgressions then that is excellent. That is not what we are all hearing from the masses who find this site.

Ditto to konceptual with one caveat:

If she hasn't routinely been attending meetings for 5 months, no conventions, etc. then a lawyer could have a very optimistic chance mitigating any judicial activity. The words of the GB member during the Australian RC hearings regarding leaving exiting dubs alone would be compelling data to include in a letter. That alone would make them think twice or thrice before taking JC action.

If she has been routinely attending meetings, then she has by her actions identified herself as a loyal, practicing active J-dub. All bets would then be off and konceptual's plan would be the only thing that might keep her from being DFed. Then she would have a very long, uphill climb to avoid future JC action if she avoided DFing - an immediately and permanent fade would then be in order. If they DF her, it is up to her whether keeping her family would be more important than living her life. If the former is more important than the latter, and if they shun her, it becomes the old reinstatement routine. Rinse and repeat.

Your infantilization of elders is not even close to being accurate from my experience. Not even. I served on a number of JCs and not once did any of us let tears and hysteria sway us. It's about the evidence. And you are serving no purpose other than to spread emotional nonsense about a process that can be very excruciating and demeaning, not to mention hard hearted and vile.

Trying to confuse this OP and a rational response to it by brining up pedophiles or specific 'experiences' for which you may be partly aware is also a lot of wasted time and space. You are contributing nothing and hopefully Snow White is ignoring you.

Of course lie. Lie, lie, lie. But if they are smart they already know the truth. The first rule of an investigator is to always- or as much as possible - know the answers to the questions you are about to ask.

If she had already admitted to living with BF, backtracking from that will be nearly impossible. Validating her arrangement is very, very easy. Validating a marriage is even easier.

Most elders? Let's hope they are leaving them be, but that is not the history I know or one that I see shared on this site, even among recent escapees. Can it be hit or miss? Of course, but once again preparing for a least case scenario that assumes dim witted, disengaged elders is a mistake. A big one. And it is an even bigger mistake for any of us to suggest this as a response to Snow White.

Ignore them. Continue ignoring them. Don't meet or speak with them. But if they make ONE attempt to determine issues associated with a judicial investigation, just one, get a lawyer and prepare a full frontal assault. The lawyer is smart enough to know when to unload on them; that's what they get paid for.

So if they pursue the issue, the lawyer can go full frontal all over the sorry asses. And I don't believe, not for one second, that an elder wiped his ass with a lawyer's letter. That was likely braggadocio speaking. What he immediately did with it is send it, while quaking in fear, to the Dark Lords for guidance.

Your suggestion borders on the ridiculous, and you are wasting everyone's time posting this nonsense.

They may not investigate to the point of checking these very available and open records. They may not even pursue her at all. But she should prepare for a worst case scenario event. If I'm on the JC and our JC finds that she is 'worthy' of targeting for judicial investigation, then I'm going to ensure it includes all of the facts. She may get some sloppy elders, some who don't care. Do you really want to give her lame advice that assumes the least case scenario????

Please read some of the experiences shared on this OP. Or listen to some of the former elders who will tell you how these things work. You think lying works 75% of the time? In your experience? Does that mean you've lied 75% of the time and successfully gotten out of it? Does your experience have anything to do with empirical data that covers the entire Borg system? And just how do you know a lawyer is a 50/50 thing? Again, do you have empirical data that suggests?

If not then you are again wasting everyone's time with your thoughts and feelings. Keep them to yourself and try to focus on salient, rational solutions.

Steph,

You are missing the point. The court would be their judicial committee - not civil courts. They can very easily determine if she was married; these are public records. Lying about it would be added to their internal JC 'findings'. If they get to this point it won't go well with her.
