  today is my first post on jwd, i was one of jehovahs witness for almost 50 years of my life, i was born into the religion.

  i was baptized at a young age and once i got married i was a very spiritual woman as they would call me.

  my husband and i served as full time pioneers, we traveled abroad and went to international conventions, did some special pioneer service in other states in the us.

  im no longer an ms.. as many would know from our chats via this forum, i've seen it coming for a while....and while the way it was done stinks, i'm really happy to finally be free!.

  Stuck,

  Rear view mirror. That's where you need to put this ASAP. I 'stepped aside' a year or so before my exit; I couldn't take the Dark Lords and their draconian control any longer. We are all proud of you and looking forward to hearing more about your continuing exit out of the Borg.

  hello all and happy new year!.

  i don't post here often,but as the new year just started and my birthday is tomorrow, i am feeling extra reflective.

  it has been several years since i was willingly disfellowshipped, and i say willingly because when the judicial committee asked me my thoughts on the organization i told them i thought it was not a god directed organization.

  yes- everyone has faults and makes mistakes; an organization even more so.. yet, you ignore all the fingers pointing at you.. many here have no faith.

  many here go to churches who lie about everything biblical; look at x-mas!.

  but at least we know god and christ and try to live up to their name!.

  I have read and re-read your response to me and I have no idea what you are trying to say. You set yourself up above and apart from the Borg's Dark Lords, from all other X-tians and without a doubt from all non-Xtians and non-believers. Others are being nice to you; I'm calling a spade a spade.

  You are a delusional narcissist who came to this site for no other purpose than to show your amazingness and awesomeness. You and you alone, according to you and you alone, have special knowledge and the correct scriptural interpretation where all others before you have failed. All hail DocHouse and his amazingness and awesomeness.

  I am breaking several of my prime directives, responding to trolls and having a theist conversation being two of them. But DocHouse, you have finally shown your true delusional, narcissistic colors. As if we didn't know already. The Dark Lords (aka FDS) are wrong. All other Christians are wrong. Certainly you have also ascribed to everlasting destruction the Buddhists, Hindus, Moslems, Jews, etc. of the world. And we poor atheists, well we don't have a chance.

  That leaves, let me see. . . . ONE person with a direct conduit to the big girl in the sky and the correct interpretation of all things scripture.

You're looking for someone who is searching for the way, which you've found. You are the way, and the truth and the life. And you have the gall to mention ego?

  Tragedy and God's Will

  it's utterly amazing to me how religious belief in an omnipotent deity shapes some people's thinking.. one woman whose family missed the air asia flight which crashed stated that it was god's will to give her father hepatitis so that she canceled her family's vacation trip on that flight.

  she says she believes god saved her family and protected them.

  however, she later mourns the fact that she lost friends on the flight...so does she believe god deliberately planned for them to die?

  You are preaching to the used-to-be-choir. We got it; we used to use those arguments. They are circular, specious, shallow, irrational, un-supported by the evidence and require a suspension of common sense and the use of one's brain cells, not to mention a large dose of credulity and burying one's head in the sand.

  But we used to be you. We understand. Keep believing.
