i have noticed that the jws are participating in meetings organized by the osce.

they are registered or participate under the "european association of jehovah's christian witnesses".

one point highlighted in this organization is tolerance.

My email to the OSCE:

Dear sirs,

I first want to say that I have been aware of your organization for many years and I follow the excellent work you do to bring stability and equality to Europe and the world. Thank you. The reason I am e-mailing you concerns information I recently received that suggests the religious group of Jehovah's Witnesses is a participating member. If this is not correct, please ignore what I am about to write.

I was raised in this organization and served as an elder in it until leaving it more than 20 years ago. This religious organization is not and never will be in alignment with your lofty goals and objectives. The Jehovah's Witnesses show a facade of being tolerant, but in reality their teachings, for the entire 100 plus years of their existence, are centered around intolerance for every other religion and every other person on the planet that is not a member of their religion.

Their members are discouraged from seeking higher education, which is a core objective of the OSCE, by the JW leaders, and they have been taught for a century to stay away from 'wordily' pursuits such as education, political reform, environmental or social improvements, because one day soon their god is going to destroy the billions of people and all of the governments and entities who aren't JWs, including the OSCE.

These are facts that you can readily and easily confirm. I would give much consideration to allowing this religious group to even be associated by name only with the OSCE. They are a hate filled organization; their dreadful shunning policy practiced against members has had a sometimes terrible affect on human suffering, leading to the destruction of entire families, depression and increased use of governmental resources as a result.

This religious group is dangerous; do not simply look at their facade. Please investigate thoroughly before allowing them any participation or the legitimacy that they are seeking.

The age of consent/marriage varies from country to country and state to state. Other than a not veiled attempt to link gay males with pedophilia, your post is irrelevant to this discussion.

It will be no different than a 21 yr old girl marrying a 16 year old boy. Where it's legal, it's legal. And, none of your business.

It is difficult, very difficult, for me to understand how some of you fundies think and process data. Even when I was a dub, i had essentially the exact same views about these types of things when it came to secular, governmental and constitutional issues vs. religious beliefs. I clearly understood the dividing line between the constitution and my religion and would have fought for gay rights even then.

I want to get you all in a locked room, look at you intently for about 5 minutes, and then scream WTF is wrong with you for the next 8 hours. Z and Junction Guy helped our cause immensely when they jumped in with their bigoted, small minded hatred. Surely you and Rebel can see the bizarre hatred spewing from these two and those like them. Surely.

Why you can't look in the mirror and see a hate filled Gollum looking back at you mystifies me. You can change. Really, you can. Quickly if you want. You will like yourself so much more if and when you do.

I'm happy whenever discrimination against people who are causing no harm ends. Apparently, so is the SCOTUS, as they have helped end such discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, in 1964. Other groups, those with disabilities, age, etc. have since that time also been provided fair and equitable treatment through laws and SCOTUS interpretation of existing laws.

In 2015 gays and lesbians received similar protection against discrimination. They still fight to be treated fairly, and it is sad that the primary discriminators against them are the religious, who received similar protection against discrimination in 1964. I find that, as Simon stated, more than a bit hypocritical. I also find it sad, pathetic, delusional, arrogant, evil, fill-in-the-blank, that so many religious people support their bigotry and hatred based on their religious beliefs. Keep them to yourselves and within your family, place of worship and group. They have no place in forcing beliefs onto others in our governmental, secular, commercial world. None.

Am I happy? I"m fukkking delirious. I will be even happier when all types of discrimination end. Right now, in 2015, religion is playing a major, if not the primary, role in discriminating against others.

The woman was put in jail for intentionally breaking the law on a consistent basis. She violated an oath she took required for her elected office. She got exactly what she deserved.

Do I wish her any harm? No, and in the end no real harm will come to her. As Morph stated, this is how the process works. Based on historical cases we can research, her chances are very close to 0 in getting any relief from this matter, including having the marriage license changed so that her name isn't on it (yes, I read fundie news as well).

Once again, Obama's sexual preference is irrelevant. Most of the US simply does not care. Nor should they. And if you have proof of Obama offing this person, rather than another conspiracy theory nonsense, then please provide it. I have routine contact with former and current FBI agents at the local and national levels. They will take your information seriously and investigate thoroughly. PM me the information and I will assure you I will get it to them ASAP.

As for whether being gay is genetic or by choice, again, it does not make any difference. The SCOTUS ruling doesn't address this red herring issue. Nor should it. Whether it is 100% choice, 100% genetics, 100% social/environmental or a mix of the 3, it is irrelevant to this topic and the law. It is only relevant to those x-tian haters who are trying to lose some of their x-tian hate towards gays and lesbians and feel good about it.

But it hasn't anything to do with the law. You are wasting your time bringing it up. But please, keep posting. Your bigotry is making it clear for everyone to clearly differentiate this matter if they haven't already.

All you have shared thus far is more of the small minded, x-tian hatred that is a blight on mankind and an impediment to much needed social evolutionary change. When you and your kind are gone from this planet, that will be a very good day. Just like this morning in KY.

In the meantime, one of the six deputy clerks must issue marriage licenses to all couples. They were given a half hour to decide whether to comply with the order or join their boss in jail.

The Rowan County attorney said in an interview that the deputy clerks would have issued marriage licenses to same-sex couples but were too afraid of her to disagree.

“Davis is acting alone in her zealous mission,” wrote Shannon Ragland, of the Kentucky Trial Court Review. “Her conduct has terrorized not just her staff but everyone that works in the courthouse. And all for a foolish mission aided by out-of-state charlatan lawyers trying to raise money for their ‘religious liberty’ mission.”
