Hi! GOLDEN AGE Magazines! If they have some of those, they contain some of the most insane rantings ever publised by the WTS. Everything from wacky science to advertisements and endorsements for quack cures to downright dangerous medical advice (Sunbaths and UV rays are good, vaccinations are a pus from the Devil, Aspirin is bad for the heart, etc.) Get some of those, I'd love to see some scans of some of those articles! I just got access to a HUGE WT library...what do I want to get?
by wanderlustguy inmy brother and his wife (still very much in) just inherited a library of wt publications dating back to the 20's.
the best part is, it's complete with both the original watchtowers and bound volumes, in many cases there are 2 of each of the bound volumes, which i can have one of.
i plan on doing a lot of research on here to figure out what all i need...still a "newbie" you know.

Hi!
I'm Jewish, too. At least three-quarters. (My mother is Jewish, My Dad was half Jewish.) They converted in the 1950's and raised my brother and me as JW's. I left the "troof" about four years ago but I haven't gone back to Judaism. I'm interested in what your life is like now that you are a Jew. (I assume you belong to a Conservative shul, my parents were Reform.) I don't know anything about Jewish life since we have had very little contact with family over the years.

Heck! I thought that was called a "dog" but he doesn't smell much like vanilla!
Hillbilly, you must be from Tennessee. They've banned all the beautiful women from here and moved 'em all to Texas, I think. Especially the vanilla scented ones.

Hi! Sorry to hear about your flat weekend. About the poll, I think "11" fits most dubs pretty well. They are in love with the idea of having a pet lion in Paradise, and they believe that this ol' world is rotten-ripe for Armageddon's clean sweep, but other than that I don't thnk most dubs could explain, much less believe, the rest of the nonsense. They probably just let it drift right over their heads at the meetings. CyrusThePersian

Heeeeeeeeee's baaaaaaaack...
by Jim_TX inwell, as most know... last week i was in italy... texas (i just love the effect that has on some... *grin*).. i got there on monday around 6pm - past their office closing time, but decided to swing by the main office anyway to check out the domes there.
when i drove up, there was already a new dome on-site, and the work crew were rolling up hoses, and pretty much shutting down for the evening.
my heart sunk!

MEN ONLY- Freezing up at the Urinal!
by Funchback inwomen are invited to read this but they most certainly won't be able to relate.
i know there have to be a lot of men out there who can't pee while in a crowded public restroom (bathroom).
personally, the more people who surround me while i'm standing at the urinal, the more difficult it is for me to pee.

FORMER JW ELDERS, on JWD, 2004 LIST
by jst2laws init has been difficult getting my old database to accept new info and then there was no way to edit the old thread so this is it on a new thread.
this is a follow up from the older: .

Hi Flower
You bring up some excellent thoughts and I agree wholeheartedly. However, I think the purpose of this thread is to show lurkers who may still be involved in the cult and who still look up to the elders that there are many former elders who have seen the errrors of the Witnesses and their false god, the Watchtower, and now seek to make amends. I myself was an elder for eight years and yes, I've done my best to undo the hurt I've caused by sitting in judgement when I really had no right.
The sooner they find out they are no more important than the rest of society the better off they will be.
So true, so true! But maybe threads like this one will be the springboard they need to discover the truth in your statement above!

Coming Out With Pride & Confidence!
by Corvin ini have only been visiting this board for a couple months, but wow, how it has helped me!
thanks to everyone who has shared information and their stories, given advice, listened, reasoned, confessed, vented, cussed, challenged and supported.
i am formerly known as "hunyadi", but i made the decision to come out a few weeks ago.

Hi Corvin
Excellent post! I applaud your daughter's decision to no longer serve the Borg. Kudos to you too for allowing her to make this decision on her own. An informed choice like this made of her own free will is more likely to stick. She will never even think of going back!
...Now if I could just convince my own daughter...
