yoga?just an exercise or something more?
can yoga be practiced without any religious overtones?
is yoga suitable for christians?
I think it's interesting how they don't give an ounce of skepticism to the stories about yogis sleeping on fire, etc. Interestingly, they mention sleeping on a bed of nails -- which is scientifically possible if they are spaced correctly -- anyone can do it!
The WT is extremely superstious and they never offer any alternative explanations for seemingly "supernatural" occurances. But, this serves to validate their Satan-hypothesis.

my parents have noticed my negative and sad attidude lately, whenever were going to the meetings or studying and so on.
but they just think that i am negative and sad in general.
i dont think they think that its spesifically because im being dragged to the meetings.. so lately we have had a lot of "serious" talks, because theyre worried for me.
I totally concur w/ Six on this one. It will take an emotional summersault at times, but that's the way to go.

Oh, one more IMPORTANT thing.
The Tribune's weather section today predicts that it is going to be in the SINGLE DIGITS this weekend. In other words, we are going to be freezing our asses off! So dress warm. And, more importantly, be sure your CAR is in order and winterized; ie anitfreeze, windshield washer fluid, jumper cables, etc.
Better to be prepared.

I hate to be the yin to everyones yang but many ex-Witnesses tend to go a little Ray-overboard. He is just a man and his views are not above criticism. I personally do not understand his position on the role of elders and deacons. It seems extremely obvious to me that these were real positions within the proto-Catholic heirarchy. Ray, if I am correct, views them rather "softly"; almost as metaphors for men that "just happen to be" taking the lead in the congregation. Again, I could be wrong about that, but that's the reading I get. I see Paul as a man who, although a rebel Pharisee, was still very rules-bound and wanted to preserve a measure of law-and-order with the help of an iron fist in the congregations. Ray, of course, wouldn't endorse this "lets not make Christianity too different from Judaism" view of Paul.
Ray also believes (or at least believed) that the "Last Days" have been going on for nearly 2000 years. It seems rather clear to me that the early Christians believed that the Last Days were imminent in their lifetimes and Jesus just never came.
Of course, Ray still adheres to a rather literalistic view of the Bible (as well as a view that all organized Christian Churches are unneccessary) so I guess he is rather forced to take the positions he does about the above.
Nevertheless, he deserves credit where credit is due. I wish him the best.

Yep. Sounds exactly like an apocalyptic cult that started a couple thousand years ago in Galilee. "Christianity" I think it was called.

Interesting. Being raised an apocalypticist and then leaving because of the bullshit often causes one to think that "everything is really not so bad" and that the end of the world is not in sight. I disagree, and although I don't apply any metaphysical meaning to what I say I have no doubt that, as a species, we're fucked.
