hello, i asked a new but old friend how many people are still christians after leaving the watchtower's mind control agency, for statistical purposes do you mind if i do a survey and see how many of you are believers?.
please don't post if your not a believer out of respect for this poll, we need to sharpen each other's sword and help build each other up and meet new friends over the internet with faith in god or some other force of the universe.
i asked another person how we can still manage our faith after getting burned by the high group mind control, he had a few ideas but he's not really involved with god because of how life burned him.
Personally, I was a very strong believer in God for most of my short life.
After leaving the organization I feel I'm becoming an agnostic.
Meaning: I personally don't believe in the Bible for numerous reasons, but I do believe that there might be a God out there who started everything off but who doesn't seem to care.
Neither we nor science can prove there is a God nor disprove it, so I'm not ruling him out just yet.
hey guys,.
so, something amazing happened recently.
i recently met with an old and very good friend of mine.
Thank you all for your kind and very helpful suggestions and opinions.
I'll mull it over for a bit and let you know what I've chosen to do :)
The best thing about this decision is that I have all the time in the world to decide.
Peace,
Garrett

Hey guys,
So, something amazing happened recently. I recently met with an old and very good friend of mine. A while ago he DA'ed himself, thus I shunned him. I recently contacted him, we met up in town and had such an AMAZING conversation. He's such an amazing and helpful guy.
So, since my leaving, I have been going through different mental states and now I feel ready... I feel ready to send in my disassociation letter. Here's why I want to do it, and I'd like your suggestions.
1/ I have NO family or close friends in the organization.
2/ I no longer want to be pestered by the elders.
3/ I don't want to risk meeting a witness in my town and have to make up stories and be hypocritical. (I have a HUGE issue with being a hypocrite.
4/ It's time to move on with my life and I feel like I might need this to truly move on.
5/ I will NEVER be coming back.
So my question is - why not DA myself? I have 0 to lose.
Also, a HUGE thank you to everyone of you here for your support since my joining. I could have never come this far without you.
Love and peace,
Garrett

Hi,
Someone with influence needs to persuade the GB to add a live chat feature to the website.
I was strolling through the Mormon site out of curiosity and noticed they had a live chat option.
GOLLY, I can't pass this up. I decided to talk to Jake and Spencer. MAN was it a blast. I got answers to life's important questions! I now know what size planet I want and what color underwear. Definitely add this feature to JW.org
Apologies if this post offends anyone. It's Friday evening and I needed to have some fun.

so, since my leaving i have been doing so much research on so many topics that it's been extremely enlightening.
not only have i learned a lot about the organization and what motivates it, but i have also learned a lot about the bible, god and most importantly, myself.. currently, i'm not quite sure where i stand, but i'm having some real issues with the bible and god.
Hey guys,
So, since my leaving I have been doing SO much research on SO many topics that it's been extremely enlightening. Not only have I learned a lot about the organization and what motivates it, but I have also learned a lot about the Bible, God and most importantly, myself.
Currently, I'm not quite sure where I stand, but I'm having some real issues with the Bible and God. However, that's for another post which I'm looking forward to discussing.
My question here is, after leaving Jehovah's witnesses, did you remain a Christian? Did you become an Agnostic or Atheist? Perhaps you turned to another religion? What are YOUR views on things now that you aren't influenced by JW?
i hated ministry book bags.i hated coming out of my home with the book bags looking like i was going to a seminar.so,i starting going to the ministry school and sunday bible meetings holding only the required books for that day in my hand.. for the sunday meetings,i would just carry the song book, bible and watchtower magazine in my hand.
no book bag!
for the ministry school,i would just carry just what necessary for the evening.
