Are single sisters happier?
by Esmeralda001 inthis question is for the ladies out there, but if you are a man and you'd like to share your thoughts on the following topic you are welcomed to do so.
given the wt society's view on women, did any of you ladies gave up on the idea of getting married "in the truth".
in such case, did you sometimes feel that you were missing out?

No, not at all! Within the religion, I think most are happier single, but don't realise it until it's too late due to being blinded by the desire of companionship. -

Even Now, You Haunt Me...
by Garrett ineven after leaving the organization, it still lurks in the background like a shadow.. as some of you know, i met a wonderful girl a while ago (which i'm going to need your help with).
she is a catholic and i am open and very respectful of her beliefs.
however, i know there will be a time where i will have to tell her that i once was a witness... and to be honest, i'm quite scared of that.. i don't want things to be ruined between us because of a disgusting cult that i was in.

@Sparky1 Thanks for your honesty :)
@Village Idiot Yes, that's what I keep telling myself. It's just that I have insecurities when it comes to having been a witness. It feels so shameful :/

I personally believe that the witnesses have a very unconventional approach to dating which leads to unhappy marriages.
Relationships in the org are too serious. Or perhaps that's just how I view them. Everything you do and say is monitored either by you, the person you're dating or those around you. You can't truly be yourself nor express how you truly feel without worries of consequences. I remember a brother in my old hall who was holding hands with his girlfriend for too long...he ended up getting reproved because of it which is utter nonsense.
Relationships also seem to be too rushed. People seem way too worried about marriage and whether the other is good enough "spiritually".
I gave up on dating and love until I quit the org and met a girl that I'm starting to fall for. While I think she's amazing and I really want everything to work, I have this voice in the back of my head that keeps telling me it won't. Why? Because of the brothers and sisters in the organization that were always telling me not to date, to stay single, to marry in the truth. I suppose that out of all the things I've rid myself of regarding the org, I haven't been able to come to grips with this issue.
Anyways, I believe that, in the moment, single sisters aren't happier because they want something but, in the future will become unhappier when they are married. If that makes sense.
Aussi, bonne chance ma chère amie :)

I made a bet...
by Garrett in...with a sister.
she says she knows an elder that can prove me wrong in everything i say about the organization.
i bet her that he will not be able to answer my questions and if he does, that he will tell me to have faith.

Now, if I lose, I admit I'm wrong and try to come back to the org, if I win, she has to do research into what I said.
What do y'all think? Will I win? Strawpoll --> http://strawpoll.me/6187363

@fayeduaway @wonderment thank you so much for your thoughts. We have spoken a bit on this matter and it does seem that she respects my views as much as I respect her's... We'll speak a bit more and see where it goes but I think everything will be ok! -

Hello my dear friends :)
I am here once again because you guys are pretty much the most awesome peeps ever.
I have a new dilemma that I'd like your opinions on. As most of you know, I'm an agnostic. I've been talking to this girl for a while now and she is amazing in every way. She's exactly what I've never been able to find and makes me very happy.
The one thing that concerns me is that she is religious. She's a catholic. I was wondering if any of you had any experience with dating someone of another faith and if/how you got over your differences? I personally am willing to accept her views but I don't know if she will do the same.
I'd just love your thoughts on the subject. Can a relationship work out with one being religious and the other not?

Hello my dear friends,
With the recent terror attacks on my capital, my emotions have been quite stirred and in turn my mind has been in constant motion.
I wanted to come here and give you a little update on my life. I have officially moved on from the witnesses. I no longer think nor care about them.
I've decided to dedicate my life to helping people. Some of you may remember that I'm working on beoming a heating/cooling installer... Well, that's changed. I'm finishing this training in March and then I'm going to sign up to either become a firefighter or policeman. I have decided to also do volunteer work when done with my training to help the homeless.I recently have been talking to a girl that I have a lot in common with and I think that I may be falling for her. If it fails, I give up on dating. It's too straining for me emotionally.
People need help and we should all be there for others when they need us. You all were here for me when I needed you and I love you all so much for being kind enough to help me through an extremely difficult time in my life. I was on the verge of suicide and all of you helped me through it.To all of you who are fighting to be free or are just starting to doubt... keep going! Do not stop questioning, don't stop fighting, never give up! One thing I've learned is that the only way we can advance in life is to push ourselves out of our comfort zone. If something is holding you back in your path to finding truth, you should isolate that, confront it and conquer it.
Love and Peace,
Garrett
