  i don't iron...nope never...sold the iron and ironing board...now it if doesn't go to the dry cleaners it goes in the dryer with a damp cloth and a prayer.. .

  State of Florida Library in Peril

  i have been a friend of the state of florida library for 12 years.

  i have served in the capacity of volunteer/researcher (most afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m) for all these years.

  you can imagine the shock that many of us experienced when we learned of gov.

  Ever Had an Accurate Horoscope?

  have you ever had a horoscope be so accurate that it gave you goosebumps?

  here lately they have all been hitting close to home.

  The Element associated with Sagittarius is Fire. Just as a fire can move quickly and uncontrollably, so can Sagittarians as they flit from one thing to the next, never looking back. For the Sag-born, it's all about action and adventure (and, hopefully, conclusions). These folks love their physicality and are often athletic, and certainly full of stamina. Life for these folks is played full-on, which is why it's chock-full of experiences. Archers are outgoing, enthusiastic and tend to overstep their bounds as a result, falling prey to the likes of foot-in-mouth disease.   I do have to admit that it sounds like me, espescially the foot in mouth part..LOL

  Ah well, I'm still skeptical...

  The Greatest Show on Earth

  today, me, hubby and our almost 5 year old granddaughter kelsee, braved the freezing rain and went to the circus in cincinnati.

  i was watching kelsee as she was laughing and really liking being there.

  half way though they had a 15 minute intermission after the first hour.

  I was raised a dub too so I know what you mean. To make matters worse my father was an elder and my grandfather was the PO of our congregation so I had the added hours in field service EVERY Saturday and the all important family study. Did any of this make me a more spiritually upstanding person? NO! I learned how to lie and be sneaky as a child. I had so many fake colds as a child...LOL I would never put my son through any of that. I'm so glad I get to give him a normal childhood! For his seventh birthday this year we are even gonna book a party at the local pizza place. Woohoo!!!

  Good article six! My favorite part:

  "All religions, including Buddhism, stem from our narcissistic wish to believe that the universe was created for our benefit, as a stage for our spiritual quests. In contrast, science tells us that we are incidental, accidental. Far from being the raison d'tre of the universe, we appeared through sheer happenstance, and we could vanish in the same way. This is not a comforting viewpoint, but science, unlike religion, seeks truth regardless of how it makes us feel."

  That pretty much sums up my feelings on religion. I also like this part:

  "Buddha's first step toward enlightenment was his abandonment of his wife and child, and Buddhism (like Catholicism) still exalts male monasticism as the epitome of spirituality. It seems legitimate to ask whether a path that turns away from aspects of life as essential as sexuality and parenthood is truly spiritual. From this perspective, the very concept of enlightenment begins to look anti-spiritual: It suggests that life is a problem that can be solved, a cul-de-sac that can be, and should be, escaped."

  This is another problem I have with organized religions, they are male centered and treat life as if it is a test to get to the next level. There is no Great Reward to get to, LIFE is the great reward!
  However I'm just a atheistic secular humanist with a bent for hedonism so take my words with a grain of salt.

  i have seen woman degrade themselves to levels that i can not believe.

  I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up on one of those Girls Gone Wild tapes though...LOL Of course they'd have to rename it Slighly Older Chicks Gone Wild...LOL

  you take the name of your favourite pet as the first part of your porn-star name, then you take your mothers maiden name for your porn-star surname.. which makes me...george bennet, hmm fairly ordinary i suppose... but her ladyship becomes...poppy male...ah, it works sometimes then!.

  Don't spend your money frivolously or gamble it away. It's time you started to save for your retirement or for an unexpected expense.

  Not interested, I feel that way all the time...

  What if I had not been born into the family I was born into...

  What if I had completed my college education....

  What if I had chosen to NOT have my son...

  But you know what, my life is not so bad, I have friends and family that I dearly love, my job is not so bad, I have a roof over my head and food in the fridge and lots of people have less than that so...

  Be thankful for what you do have!
