if you could put a dollar amount on it, how much $$ did you waste on the religion?
(service, meetings, full-time ministry, contributions, etc.
)

which watchtower or awake cover do you remember the most?
There was a watchtower cover on satanic worship-----that was pretty creepy
has anyones jw friends or family ever spotted anyone on here who shouldnt be and reported you or confronted you?
how did they work out it was you?
how did you take it, and if you were in good standing at the time, what counsel did you receive?
Never been spotted yet.
But I have spotted a few. I know who they are. They don't know who I am.

alas, some expensive witness traditions have ended - like food service at assemblies or mailed subscriptions.. however, since 1996, the society has had a tradition of begging for money in the november watchtower.. i think they hope rich witnesses will think about re-balancing their portfolios or making changes before the end.
of the taxable year in december.. .
lawyers and new printing facilities ( to be on-line in 2005) cost a lot of money, so look for their appeal soon.. .
Last year I asked an elder if I could have a copy of the brochure "planned giving".
He stalled and put me off. Then he told that he might have one and would come to my house to show it to me.
That never happened. Yet the Nov.1, 2003 article says "these brochures are available upon request in writing, by fax or by telephone."
What are they trying to hide??????

hello this is my first post and i wanted to introduce myself so here goes.. my name is lainey, and i have not been to the meetings for about 4 years now.. i am 28 and work as a doctor in a big city university hospital as a sho.. also for my sins, i am cassies little sis, and i am staying with him for a little while, as i am signed off sick for the next month with a stress related disorder.. after the death of my older bro and my dad within the past few months, i started suffering from terrible nightmares, most of them connected in some way to my witness upbringing.. me and cassie have talked for some length and he suggested that i spend some time having a look on this site and meeting others who have had similar issues to face in life.. i hope you are all are better listeners than cassie, who tends to fall asleep when i am in the middle of talking to him.
(brothers!!!
) btw he hates being called cassie lol.. anyway i am not a big talker, so i probably wont post a lot, however i am going to scout around for a while.. thanks .
Hello Lainey,

my grandmother's name is sadie.
she was born in the old south in 1887. i could write a book about her ... but for this post, i will share one of her moments of wisdom.
she was a devout roman catholic, living by all the rules, and keeping all the holy days, never missing mass ... and i am sure her confessions to the priest were about minor failings - otherwise she likely told the priest how good she was ... just kidding.
amazing,
your gramma must a been quite a "dish"
P.S.
When I started lurking on this board my hubby recommended I read your posts first. I still look for your posts and enjoy them immensely. Thanx a bunch

did it bother you to see new born babies go to the kingdom hall?
only a few days/weeks old, and already at the kingdom hall.
the baby crying throughout the meetings.. at what age would it have been reasonable to bring a child to his first meeting?
I am with Hamas
as a witness as early as you can
now I also would say never
what bugged me even when I was a really devoted jw is when tiny, tiny babies are brought out in service. I remember one elder who used to bring a few week old child door to door on an unbearable hot and muggy morning. Is this not child abuse?
