Were you 'alive in '75' and how was that year for you?

i was a junior borgite in 1975. i remeber looking at the calendar at work in october and thinking: 'armageddon isn't here yet.....and it doesn't feel like it will be here anytime soon either!'.

i was surprised that jehovah hadn't obeyed the superior command to bring the big 'a' as instructed to him by fred franz.

And Yes many many elders preached the end would come in 1975. Round my parts, we had old Brother Scaglioni who gave a talk with K Little of Canadian branch and yes they intimated that the end would come in 75

In '75 I was 16 and a disappointed young woman to say the least. I was supposed to be in the new order. I had always envisioned my 16th birthday in the new order.

I can still remember a particular morning during that summer, I woke up to with the birds chirping and the sun shining. My heart started beating and I rushed to the window. My stupid gullibe self though Armagheddon had come during the night and we were in the new system.

When half the year went by, I didn't give up hope, I thought that it would surely come in the fall. After all didn't everything happen in the fall? But the fall came and went and then I just put all my disappointment behind me.

In the back of my mind the society had made a little mistake and it would surely come in 1976. Nothing happened-- Then for some crazy reason i threw myself in the "troof" activities and couldn't wait to finish high school so I could start pioneering.

There was a family that had sold their home the year prior so they could" live out the rest of their days in work of the kingdom". When 75 came and went so did they and the whole family left. They were the smart ones who woke up early. It would take me 27 year to 2002 to fully realize what a farce the organization was.

some of the comments on the anthony morris topics have been despicable.. if someone is an idiot or a biggot then they are damaging themselves.. if 'we' start posting vile filth, insults and threats then it doesn't convince anyone other than we're probably as bad..

I've been guilty and have said some nasty things about Mr. Morris. During my 45 years of association with watchtower,i've heard a lot of balogna, but this guy takes the prize. And I don't know what it is about it, but he makes my blood boil to the point of eruption.

Reorganization Branches Belgium and The Netherlands

the belgium branche of jw in kraainem will be closed.. the netherlands branche of jw in emmen will be reorganized into an ict devolpment office.. all the oldtimers jw staff in emmen is told they have to leave, they are dismissed.. of course it will be explained that the organization is on the move, a blessing from jehovah.. gorby.
