Sometimes I wonder if this a way of making some modern day martyrs so the governing body can cry "persecution"

Hoser: there is not one in my area that speaks Hebrew. In fact I don't think there are many Hebrew speaking witnesses in the whole of Canada.
So true that if God is going to protect them why worry about safety.
The governing body is getting dumber and dumber

The letter was read in Canada. I found it really odd that the letter stressed that "Israel was safe". I think watchtower is going a little too far.

An odd letter was read at last nights' meeting. It was in regards to a special campaign for next year arranged by the governing body to go and preach in Israel. The call is going out to anybody that speaks Hebrew and English. Of course whoever goes has to assume all expenses and find their own lodging as there are few witnesses in Israel. The letter made sure to encourage sisters to go as "Israel is very safe."
Anybody else have this letter read?

" Do not ask permission, just play the video--" service meeting instructions.
by prologos inthis statement startled me out of the pleasant mental absence during this week's "service" meeting.. pushing the org.
explanation: "the listener has time to interrupt, if they want--" .
together with an incredible boring "study" of an hand held device, or it's stored content, i will be a totally new crop of orgies at the halls,.

A must to be MS?
by crazyhorse inso is it a must and an absolute requirement to be a ministerial servant in the org?.
i was told that if i refuse an appointment as an ms then it means i'm opposing "jehovah's call to service".

If you refuse you are considered deficient, spiritually weak, and definitely not following theocratic arrangement.

Stephen Lett (Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses) Publicly Counsels Politicians During Convention Keynote Address In Africa
by jwleaks inzambia: fulfill promises ... jehovah's witnesses counsel politicianstimes of zambia.
august 23, 2014. by chatula kampo.
a top jehovah's witnesses' world leader has bemoaned politicians' failure to fulfill campaign promises.. stephen lett, who gave a keynote speech at the on-going convention held at levy mwanawasa stadium in ndola, said politicians needed to meet the aspirations of people who vote them into public offices.. meanwhile, conversion overseer john mashilipa has urged fellow witnesses to respect the government of the day, obedient and continue remaining non-partisan.. in the keynote address streamed live from solwezi district in the north-western province, mr lett, one of the seven members of the world governing body said electorates expected much from the people they vote for.. "there is need for politicians to fulfill their promises to their voters once they assumed power," he said.. he observed that most politicians failed to fulfill promises to their voters who had high expectations.. "politicians usually promise a moon and not deliver to their promises, this is disappointing to the voters who have high expectations," he said.. mr mashilipa said believers needed to seek god's kingdom which he said never fails, unlike human governance.. this year's conversion attracted a historic attendance of more than 40,000 people from across the five districts in the province namely; ndola, kitwe, luanshya, mufulira, kalushi and chambishi.. gathered under the theme 'keep seeking first god's kingdom', witnesses filled the stadium and those who could not find seats monitored proceedings from outside.

Well when you are the Lord of World you can say anything you want even chastise politicians. Are are governing body members getting more political or has it always been like that?
