When my son was little (age 4-5) we happened to sit on the front row during the Sunday talk of the CO visit. My husband sat at isle seat, I sat next to my husband and our son next to me.
During the talk my son would turn to me so I could help him find the scripture. After the meeting the CO takes me to the side to talk to me.
He told me that it would have been best if my son would sit next to his dad. As the head of the house my husband should have been the one to help our son with the scriptures not me.
I told the CO that hubby was a very attentive dad and he and our son had a great relationship but that during the meeting it was always our custom that he sat next to me since his dad would get up to do mikes or sound. CO said it didin't matter because it made my husband look like he wasn't doing his job as the head of the family. I couldn't believe this guy. The funny thing is he never said a word to my husband.

Are we participants in this forum because of bouts of "loneliness"?
by Wonderment ini wonder how many of us here hold on to this meeting place out of "loneliness.
could it be that we harbor feelings of "abandonment" and "loneliness" from being left cold and dry by the wt people and our families?
perhaps we do have a need to reach out to people with similar experiences.

" very good book that easily resonates, i'm sure, with anyone who has exited a cult.
her life in scientology and eventual exit was a nightmare.

I saw her interview on 20/20. It was eerily similar to the jw experiences with the shunning and being considered a subversive person. But I wonder if she would have stayed if the incident at the wedding would have been different. I'd like to get the book and read it too. -

To my knowledge and experience, yes it is a true blue pro witness community.
The administrators are like bloodhounds. If for any reason they peg you as an apostate, bam you a banned.
As to whether they are in good standing, I don't really know. One thing for sure, the governing body doesn't approve of these forums, so they are bucking the trend and breaking their own rules by overstepping theocratic order.

Yes I come here because I am lonely sometimes. After a lifetime in this organization, the jw experience is not easily shaken. It great to come to this place, this community of folk where we have a commonality. The lonely dissipates.
