sometimes it's hard to know if our own experience of jws was typical and what features were peculiar to our own area or the individual jws we knew personally.

i was wondering if others experienced this among jws:.

a few times on the ministry, when we were working wealthy areas with large houses, some brothers and sisters would make the comment that they look forward to taking ownership of one of these big houses after armageddon, when the worldly people have vacated them.

someone, somehow, has figured out that im a member of this site and - rather than speak to me - has promptly reported me to the elders.

I am home! I hope my family realizes at some point what I am putting up for them.

At any rate, I am glad this one is behind me. One thing is for sure this whole assembly on loyalty, not only to governing body but to the local elders too is really scary.

great news!.

we are free!.

as of the 9th of june, me and my dear wife mrs. eden handed over our letters of disassociation at bethel in portugal, thus making official our departure from the jehovah's witnesses.

happy birthday.

just finished a walk today i came onto a happy family group of all the generations celebrating a tiny ones birthday.

they all sang ..happy birthday and i sang with my bass baritone the chorus, .."why was she born so beautiful why was she born at all.." silly words but they are happy words.

the family cheered their pleasure at this outsider joining in.

For those who are still in... What do you do about field service?

for those of you who are still in because of family circumstances, what do you do about field service?

do you still go regularly, sporadically or not at all?.

if you do still go, how do you manage?

As long as you are visible a few times a month, no one will notice. These are few things that work for me:

When I do go out I make sure I drive to the houses of different members of the congregation and ring the bell to say hello . Then I say I am doing a few calls in the area and wanted to see how they are doing.
I always take out lots of territories and show up at arrangements fanning them and say that we had some good results in them. (no ones cares).
The times that I am stuck with someone, I make them sweat it out. I push to do all the doors and walk all around the territory. Most often they don't wan't work with me the next time.

You can fake it pretty good these days. You don't even have to try because everybody else is faking it too
