May 22 1969 Awake!
by zeb in"if you are a young person you need to face the fact you will never grow old in this system of things.. why not?
because all the evidence in fulfilment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years...as a young person you will never fulfil any career that this system offers".

Midweek meeting video
by aboveusonlysky indid anybody see the service meeting video this week?.
australian sister was sexually abused as a child and thought of ending her life at 14 years old, sometime later jw's call on her father who accepts a study and eventually the whole family becomes witnesses, life gets much better as the sister immerses herself in pioneering etc, she still has some dark days but prayer along with going for walks and swimming has helped her cope with bad memories of child abuse, the new system (just around the corner) will completely fix everything......... i'm dumbfounded, the hypocrisy has literally rendered me speechless......comments anybody?.

does it give any clue as to the identity of the perpetrator?
@Room 215 , its inferred at the beginning that it happened before the family became jws. Its crafted that way on purpose so that seeds are planted in the minds of people that its' only the bad worldly people that abuse children.

The message that the governing body is sending with this video, to anyone who has been abused within the watchtower structure, is clear to anyone with their eyes open.
It goes like this.
An abused person's primary focus should be on getting better" of course", and how do we do that? NO, not by going to the police!! It's not going to help you either, going to a therapist. And we certainly wouldn't want to spend all our precious time making noise about it. No what we want to do is the same old, same old, meeting, service, meeting, service, etc. and maybe if you need something more , take a walk to the beach and you will feel all better. And no nasty lawsuits .
I saw this video this week and I felt a little vomit coming up my throat.
Feel the love !!!!!
I can tell you this, that it would go a long way to me feeling better, had I been raped, to see the bastard who did it rot in jail. Of course there was no mention of prosecution in the video. No mention of crime being committed. It's all good in paradise.

After 52 years a Watchtower slave 9/11 gave me the push I needed to get out.
by new boy ini turned in my letter of disassociation on september 18, 2001 but it was 9/11 that showed me what the witnesses really feel about human lives and the future wished for.. i was in limbo after my wife of 27 years left me on july 30, 2001. she knew i wasn't buying the jw program anymore.
she told me she come back to me when "i got my head straighten out about god and the church".. so for 40 days i was in limbo.
i stopped going to meetings.

I also remember a brother, who told my my husband he couldn't wait to get home tonight to see the death count. Made me sick and yes it truly shows what heartlessness among people that are supposed to be so loving.

I don't really skimp on food. I try to by the best quality I can afford. But I do stay away from pre-packaged and convenience foods that cost more.
For example, my family loves hummus. I buy the dried chickpeas . I soak overnight, then boil them with a little baking soda. Two cups of chickpeas, some tahiti, garlic and lemon juice goes a long way for a little money.
I also make lots of stir fries that require little meat and lots of vegetables.

further from ARC
by zeb inthe royal commission has published 35 submissions received from a range of organisations and individuals in response to its consultation paper: best practice principles in responding to complaints of child sexual abuse in institutional contexts.
the commission received submissions from sector peak bodies, government agencies, survivor advocacy and support groups, religious institutions and other interested parties.
the consultation paper, which was released in march this year, sought input into which matters should be canvassed in a complaint handling policy and how those matters might be addressed, as well as the royal commission’s suggested best practice principles.

A JW Father Learns about Blood
by Lee Elder inthis father contacted us a few months ago about his experience with the watchtower's blood policy, and how his daughter nearly died as a result of it.
hopefully, other jw parents can learn from this before the wt policy claims the life of their child.
the wts has very few meaningful interventions or "non blood alternatives" for anemia.
