I am amazed at how resourceful they are when it comes to hoarding funds.
Now members of congregations can also make donations designated for their own congregations via the website.
I am wondering if this a way of controlling what each congregation gets to keep. In Canada the policy is that congregations can only keep between $3,000 - $5,000 on hand any surplus goes to the branch. But I know that some congregations are hanging on to some of the surplus funds. Could this be a control mechanism to dole out only a little to the congregations and the rest is kept by branch?
circuit overseers, elders, ministerial servants, pioneers and rank & file are stressed out over an ex-jw (kevin) who has visited nearly 20 congregations (orange county) and has high-jacked the opening prayers and done some effective witnessing before he is escorted to the back door.
and everything is caught on video!.
kevin is also visiting numerous jw cart locations from the los angeles area to orange county and giving a most effective wiitness at each location and they're all on video.

i had to work with an elder in fs today.

Blondie, please take a deep breath. I can assure you that BE is not backing off. As I mentioned BE is my husband and we have discussed how to speak with this person and his wife. However, this is how jw parents parent their children. All jw children are abused every single time they are taken out in service. True this situation described in the OP went beyond that and I don't know why this father did what he did. It was disturbing --but unfortunately, we can't go to the police. But we will do whatever is in our power to make these parents aware that certain behaviors are not acceptable.
