In all honesty, even when I was a true blue witness i was weirded out by the the whole procedure. The passing of the bread and wine by men all dressed in black suits was so bizarre.

Memorial Weirdness
by Ding inthose of us with a watchtower background probably see the memorial as normal.. at least, we're used to it.. we can forget how weird it seems to an outsider.. it's like inviting a group out to dinner, having meals placed on the table, and then explaining to them why no one present should be partaking of any of it because it's really intended for someone else..

here is one sent to my friend from his witness neighbor!
what are the odds that after receiving this invite, someone will attend the memorial?.

The neighbour might have stumbled at the kingdom hall by accident, but after receiving this letter he/she is going to steer far, far away.

Covid is making a comeback. Going back to the Kingdom Hall is becoming more of a Hope, (like Armageddon)
by pistolpete inif you have been keeping up with the news, many cities are seeing an uptick in covid cases.
mask mandates are being implemented in many cities.. many pimos are relating that their pimi parents and grandparents are scared to go back and are having a hard time following the elder's exhortation to attend the memorial, because it might be the last.. a lot of pimi's are saying; that it doesn't make logical sense for large groups of people to meet in a crowded building passing and touching emblems and wine glasses while covid is still around and vaccines have not prevented the death of many who still got the virus.
the elders keep reminding the sheeple that "we must obey, even if it doesn't make sense.".

To be fair, there has not been a mandate for all to return to live meetings.
I believe the mandate "you get your ass to the hall" is coming. I heard a comment from one of the prominent elders in my parts that covid is here to stay so let's get back to the hall. -

Watchtower Bible And Tract Society Urging Town Of Ramapo To Act On Its Application In Timely Manner
by AndersonsInfo inhttps://rcbizjournal.com/2022/03/22/watchtower-urging-ramapo-to-act-on-its-application/?fbclid=iwar2akhf6eq1rrmhihrz4fqdqmf99l_jmkh7pcx70p6olunqfrvuspomer-e. by tina traster.
march 22, 2022. over the past eight months, the watchtower bible and tract society has reviewed public and other comments on its proposed development for 155 sterling mine road in ramapo and has revised its plans.. on monday, the applicant was prepared to present its feis (final environmental impact statement) and hoped the ramapo town board would accept its submission as “final,” to move on to review by the rockland county planning department.. instead, the board deferred making decisions, seemingly because they did not have enough time to review some newly submitted documents by the activist group rosa.. “we’re asking the board to take action on the ‘feis’,” said attorney ira emanuel.
“if you don’t like it, change it.

Introduction: POMO Ex-JW w/ Late-Life Diagnosis Autism
by LongGone ini'm longgone.
i was raised as a jw and i was in the "religion" for three decades.
i was an ex-jw for five years before i started to no longer even regard myself as an ex-jw, just as a person.

Do we really need this many prayers in a day?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthere’s no proof that prayers have any effect whatsoever, other than perhaps giving the person who prays a false sense of having done something.
all claims that prayers have been answered are either anecdotal, fraudulent, delusional or are the result of either pure coincidence or confirmation bias.. how many prayers do you need in a day?.
you get up and eat breakfast...you pray for another day of life.

When I was a dyed in the wool dub, I would make my kids pray after every meals and every snacks and before school and after school and before bed. One day a little neighbourhood boy happened to be visiting at lunch time. He told that he prayed once a day and it covered everything. Smart kid had more sense than me.
Seriously- the whole prayer thing is nothing more than a ritual.

Rules and Regulations: I wanted to PM you but its not available. Last few years I've been trying to distance myself from anything related to JW's . But a rebuttal to Lloyd's actions came my way on youtube and wanted to see what folks were saying about it on this forum.
I've missed this forum and hope to contribute more.
