Sharing new light

gotta share this experience.. had a shepherding call from a lone sanctimonious elder.. he started banging on about the new light in john 17:3. know jehovah.

this weeks wt study.. i let him roll on for a while then pulled out an old catholic douay version dated 1962.. made sure he saw the cross on the front cover, he didn't want me to open it up ha ha.

i insisted he would appreciate the comparison with christendom's bible which of course renders .

I would say that the number increases every year. But since they have claimed that the number of GENUINE anointed is very small, I doubt they would be truthful about reporting an accurate number.

Has Anyone Totted Up the Overall Number of Child Abuse Cases Within the Borganisation?

i just wondered how many cases of child abuse have been declared within the borganisation?

there must be a wapping amount.....and i'm wondering how that compares with other "christian" denominations?

i'm in the uk and theres been a load of cases here, more recently in manchester new moston congregation.

I know of 3 cases of unreported molestation at the hands of JW's. I believe that even if we had a definite number it would not be a real representation of what is actually happening.

a friend of mine recently had his co visit and in the elders meeting the co out-right asked the question: how are the friends doing in your cong.

as regards pursuing higher education?

the co continued...you know in view of all the counsel from the slave regarding the dangers.

The attack on education is relentless. Yet on bethel applications and applications for working at Warwick, applicants are asked their level of education , university is on it. Watchtower wants it both ways. The level of hypocrisy is unbelievable.

Let's not forget that watchower uses "theocratic warfare". they will lie and cheat for the sake of not sullying their reputation. Even if its not their channel, they might let it stay because it works to their advantage.

Christmas Field Service

on another thread, i read that a few adherents may be traveling (cough-cough) to other cities and wouldn't be able to make field service on christmas day.. what is the likelihood that going out on christmas will be encouraged at the weekend services at the khs?

...or do most halls stay neutral on this?

given what i've read on this forum, i have the impression that disrespecting a day of other's celebration wouldn't be discouraged which annoys the heck out of me..

When I was growing up, we never missed holiday witnessing. My dad would drag us out in service. I was always so embarassed. We generally met in the afternoon and door to door was smack in the middle of most peoples festivities.

I think now what a presumptious thing to do and what a lack of respect for other people.

There are still arrangements for Christmas and New Year day but few venture out.

A part of me wants to believe its not sanctioned by watchtower, but then again they associated themselves with the UN behind everybody's back, including members of their own elite group.
