The WTBTS and Elders have too many stupid rules!
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini hated ministry book bags.i hated coming out of my home with the book bags looking like i was going to a seminar.so,i starting going to the ministry school and sunday bible meetings holding only the required books for that day in my hand.. for the sunday meetings,i would just carry the song book, bible and watchtower magazine in my hand.
no book bag!
for the ministry school,i would just carry just what necessary for the evening.

OMG the stupid rules would fill volumes. What about the one where a brother couldn't say the prayer unless he was wearing a jacket. I can remember an old spare jacket hanging in the vestibule ready to be worn by poor smutck that forgot his. -

Advice needed on Crisis of Conscience
by cappytan inso, some of you may have seen my thread from yesterday about my wife waking up.. we had further discussion yesterday evening after i sent her the pbs video on the abuse scandals plaguing the watchtower.
she was so furious and pissed off at wt hq.
apparently a close relative of her's was abused by an elder and the only reason he was reproved and removed as an elder was because he confessed.

Give her the book or pdf and let her chose to read it when she feels comfortable. That's what my hubby did for me. Once I read Crisis of Conscience all the pieces of the puzzle will come together for her. -

Do you feel bad throwing away literature?
by stuckinarut2 inso do you feel bad throwing away your old literature?.
what about your old song book or bible from your early days in the org?.
if so, is it because of sentimentality, monetary cost or because it might be 'sacred' ?.

I've keep some of the very old stuff but most got trashed. There was a time when i didn't throw out anything because it came for jehovha's organization. Now, I take lots of stuff at the literature counter and then go home and put it in the recycle bin. I do it with pleasure. -

Former COs that Become Inactive
by Bob_NC insome long years ago a circuit overseer told me that the area he was from had several former cos that had "left the road" as they call it and were just sitting on their laurels.
he said that they don't pioneer and some were irregular publishers.
a different co made a remark to the effect of "you think that servants or pioneers live a restricted life, cos are under the supervision of the service dept.

Recently there was a thread about a DO who left. I thought I would resurrect this thread for the new ones.

I am so glad that PBS brought this to light. It hope that TV stations will take the lead and bright light to this despicable policy. -
