  i am sorry that on my first post i am asking for help and advice but i am at my wits end.

  i have been brought up a witness all my life and it is all i know.

  i am an ex-elder and pioneer and i don't know anybody outside of the congregation.. i have been unhappy for so long and wanted to leave.

  Do you know for sure that you will be disfellowshipped? Or did you do something that warrants that according to the congregation?

  If it's only doubts, I would suggest, as some already have, to keep them to yourself until you devise an exit plan.

  Could you apply for welfare until you get on your feet?

  If you can, tell us an approximate location of where you live. We can get in touch with some of the ex jw's in the UK that might know resources and agencies that will help you get a head start and get on your feet.

  The reason some of us hear an alarm when money is asked is because there are been scammers in the past that have had less than sincere motives.

  It's Ok to be scared and lonely, but this is only temporarary and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

  The Watchtower Letters

  several years ago, i put together a compilation of various types of correspondence between me and the watchtower society, that occurred over the 30 years i was a jw.

  some was just administrative stuff, like pioneer appointments and letters.

  but there were also several letters that i wrote regarding doctrinal issues, including some sensitive ones.

  I don't want to sound insensitive, but you say you are not asking for money, but you've set up a gofundme account?

  If you saw a bottle of poison on the kerbside would you leave it there,most people would try and put it somewhere safe.I put the teaching books in a trash can because in 5 years time some person could take that and be sucked into the jw cult but they cant if the book is in a trash can

  if you were really into the organization back in the 80's, you have to admit, that it was the peak of the organization.

  it was a time of high energy and excitement.

  like any nation, it reaches a peak and then it declines.

  I pioneered all through the 80's. It was a time of boom! especially since we all thought the end would come before the end of the century.

  As to the good quality books....looking back now, it is so clear how full of nonsense they were.

  just as i think my loathing for the jw cult has peaked, it goes higher and higher.

  i wish this cult would just go away.

  How I helped my wife out.

  I put "red pill" in her cereal. I put "red pill" in her coffee. I put "red pill" in her pasta.

  I put it in everything. But instead of one whole "red pill", I used the cheese grater so she would hardly notice.

  Every conversation we had was laced with "red pill".

  For instance.

  Me: "Honey, so... the '1000yr reign is 1000 years right?"

  Her: "Yes"

  Me: "So the Kingdom began in 1914... right?"

  Her: "Yes..."

  Me: "So there's only 900 years left... I hope Jesus does something soon!"

  Her: "SHARP BURST OF ANGER" (you have to have a strong stomach)

  And I could hear one of the tentacles detach. "PhSttt"

  This is an example. I did so many I lost track.

  She posts here now. Maybe she remembers some.

  Like the time we went for a walk down to our local park. He honey. Help this guy out.

  To my loving husband Biblexaminer: how can I forget all you did to help me wake up. You never gave up on me and now I know the truth.

  What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?

  i can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.

  i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.

  i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

  these numbers and letters:--gbr659967--are the only identifying markson this boe..the "informant" who sent it said:.

  "this letter came through the congregation inbox and so hasn't got theusual identifying information.

  the name of the file is probably thebest way to identify it.

  however professional and glossy their pr makeover is, as seen on jw tv and the jw org logo... the bottom line is that 19th century religious adventist claims are no longer sexy..

  to outsiders the jw org now has all the allure of a donkey wearing lipstick..

  Get over yourselves. The org is going nowhere except into the future. The momentum they have established will easily weather another 100 years of storms thrown their way.
