  JW Sister: raped, pregnant what does she do?, abortion or adoption?

  this question came out frequently from a situation known to some of us who knew of 2 cases.... if a single or married sister gets rapped by stranger or incest, a pregnancy results, she is not allowed to have an abortion but neither is she allowed to give it up for adoption?...i always question why not up for adoption?...

  no you will be blood guilty because the child won't be raised in the "truth"... hmmmmm does anyone heard of that?

  is it a matter of consciousness?

  If I remember correctly, it wasn't a conscience matter, at least not years ago. The mother would be responsible for seeing that the child would be brought up properly. I think that even having other Witnesses adopt the baby would not be an option because there would be no guarantee that they would remain faithful.

  My Mom Is Dying

  i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.

  she is on morphine and hanging on.

  she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.

  I wonder if all who are in the school (incl. children and less-skilled speakers) will do the demonstrations or if it will be only those who would qualify to give demonstrations in the Service Meeting.

  Do they do as much farming at the (erstwhile) Watchtower Farms as they used to? And do they still have the "hotel" at Patterson? It still makes my stomach knot up when I think of all the money, and volunteers' time and money, used just so visitors could spend the night.

  there were many addressed to me.

  for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.

  i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

  My older brother who is a prudish die-hard JW and his just-as-prudish JW wife got bent way out of shape because, while at a gathering at a couple's house, I made a comment about their dog's nipples. You would've thought that I said the F-word. I asked, "What's wrong?". My brother responded, "You said 'nipple'".
  I asked him, "Since when is nipple a bad word?". He and his wife covered their ears and made sounds to drown out the word 'nipple'. "Argh! NO! You said it again. Stop saying 'nipple'!".

  The last few years I attended meetings, whenever a vote involving money was coming up, by some "coincidence" I always went out to the restroom. I think I managed to miss all the votes! (I was too much a coward to abstain.)

  The GB accepts questions about doctrine!

  so i'm watching the interview with g-jack and he says that if a question comes up about doctrine, the gb have a meeting.

  so my question is this, who questions anything and how do they submit a question?

  he seems to painting some kind of "democracy" picture for the rc.. he also said that the 7 gb members can't possible know everything about doctrine...wtf???

  To be accurate, having their laundry and cleaning done and their meals provided are not special perks gIven to the GB but are done for all at Bethel.
