  Is the term "sheep" offensive to you?

  i was thinking about this the other day.

  the society likes to call all those who follow their teachings "sheep" or "sheep like ones".

  how offensive is that?!?!

  I agree with Blondie. I think what it is supposed to mean in a spiritual sense, and how the WT has made it a catch phrase are two different things. I think the Faithful and Discreet Slave is the most strange and degrading.Just my .02

  My 6th grade girlfriend

  about two months ago, i got an email titled, "think way back".

  it was from a woman i knew when we were both in the 6th grade in 1956. we were good friends for a few months, when i briefly attended school with her.

  we bonded and became very close in the 3 or 4 months that i knew her.

  I am sorry, I can't remember where I read this, but I heard that at one point when MJ was still a JW, he was told that he would have to shun his sister Latoya. At this time they were on good terms. He reportedly asked Marlen Brando for advice at which time Marlen told him he could always get another religion, but that Latoya was always gonna be his sister. I believe the story was that he chose to ignore the directive to shun his sister.

  ,personaly i cant understand it,i know people can be racist against culture,but colour ,come of it.

  ,jesus was brown ,mosess was black he had to be living in egypt ,have angels got a colour if not why not ,dont be afraid to answer as i wont hold it against you if you dont ,me i have great friends from all nationalitys .have you transended from the obligitory type cast person that you were born has your life been enriched by meeting someone of another culture, i know we have been richly rewarded.

  JW or Catholic scandal worse?

  do you think that the pedophile problem in the watchtower organization is just as important as in the catholic church?

  if we knew the statistics, and found out that there were a lot fewer pedophiles in the watchtower org.

  than in other religions, would this be a victory on their part?

  Both are awful. I think that most have already made the point thought that the Catholic church has been taking their lumps like men so to speak. As if there were anyway to make up for such a thing, but moving foward to try to keep it from happening again is a step in the right direction. The JW's seem to want to just close ranks and pretend nothing ever happened. But as they pound it into their members head so effectivly that they are God's org and are so unlike the Catholic church, how could their members admit that this could happen to them too? The powers that be know that they have a lot more to lose than the Catholic church. The Catholic church may have some issues, but I don't know if mind control is one of them. Catholics can be very diversed in some of their beliefs and lifestyles, therefor it isn't really hard for them to move on from something like this, but well I think it goes without saying that the WTS is very different. It's members faith is held together by some very precarious strings that can be easily severed with the right ammo.
