  Most ridiculous statements from the JW stage?

  we have all sat at jw meetings and heard some ridiculous statements that were either shocking or just plain old bunk.

  usually it is the same jw individuals that make those statements time and time again.

  you know the type..... you can almost expect such comments from them.. jws place great importance on what statements or persons are 'stage worthy'.

  I have never been a JW so I have to live vicariously through my best friend who was raised a JW.

  The first gem she ever told me about was when she was counseled at age 8 for being "difficult" Her father was physically abusive, and an elder told her that if he had a daughter that acted the way she did, that he would beat them too.

  The other was her grandmother, who did not like me very much at all, shouted as she was leaving one night, "You just go out with that bunch of girls, who knows what they've got you into, you're probably wearing BLACK underwear now" Apparently balck undergarments are another sign of the devil, incidentally she was not wearing black underwear.

  I know these weren't from a stage, but I just had to share them.

  at first when we joined, we all choose a user name that would identify us.

  we also had the choice of puting a picture next to our user name.

  often, some change the picture for a better one.

  I am a big sopranos fan, plus my real name means "from the meadow." So I thought that Meadow was a pretty name and also held significance for me. I was born in 1977, and I use my birthdate every chance I get. I actually am still pretty happy with my name.

  I have never been much of a computer queen, until I found this site. I have to admit that I have been sucked in. I love it here, and spend way more time here than I should. Since I have been hanging out on the computer more though, I have also discovered other places I like hanging out at too. Also, I have discovered that there are some nice locations for shopping which is my other favorite recreation. So, where are some of your favorite sites. Where do you like to hang out when your'e not here?

  I LOVE ME SOME MUHAMMED ALI

  I guess he might not be perfect-but who is? He was still the best at what he did, and had personality to spare. I own a couple of pics of the champ. One being with him and the beatles. I don't know if they got along or not, but I love the picture.

  Oh O.k. that's good. I just know how cautious people can be with newbies, and for good reason. Never having been a JW, I don't pick up on the same inside things others do. I hope you find what your looking for, and again welcome.

  I never noticed how much the french cussed. Anyway, what is she supposed to do SOJ? She is just a girl who has already decided she doesn't believe in this malarchy, but is forced to pretend so that she doesn't lose all her friends and family. Very nice. Is that her fault? I hardly think so. And good point as always from Alan F. My only advice is the same as Yeru. It's much harder being on your own than you could ever imagine. I moved out when I was 17 too, and I learned alot the hard way. If you are really serious about moving out please be smart, at least save up as much money as you can. You will need a good nest egg at the very least. Good luck to you.

  i understand from a philadelphia trumpet article (december 2002 p.24)that nimrud was married 2 his own mother,celebrated his birthday on december 25,rebelled against godetc etc.. also the pharoahs,the herodian family as well as the hitler family (all evil men)practised incest.. in view of the pagan/cruel rulers connections,should someone who practise incest b disfellowed from the congregation?.

  In order to really stand apart from the world, the org has now decided that everyone has to shave their heads, and write a big JW in perm marker on their heads. This way they will be easily identified at the Big A. I mean we would hate for God to get confused. Rumors are funny. Here in town there is a chinese buffet. They got closed down cause a man saw a cockroach run across his plate. Well he was disgusted and told them he would not pay for his meal, but they were rude to him and threatened to call the police if he didn't pay. He was so mad he told anybody and everybody who would listen about this incident, and ended up getting them shut down for a short time. I know this is the real story because I know this man. Anyway, alot of people found out that the restaurant was closed down, and at first I heard several people retelling the story. Apparently there had been a cat carcass found in the trash. Then about 3 weeks later a friend was telling me that he heard a family was eating and a cat carcass fell from the ceiling onto their table. I had to laugh.

  I think some do think it's neat to attain different levels. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. We can't be serious all the time, I think giving it too much thought is overrated. Some people spend alot of time here, and they get excited when they feel acknowledged for that. It doesn't make anybody feel better than anyone else I don't think, except for I have noticed a little prejudice against newbies. But I think that may be born out of cautiousness too. Either way, I think it's harmless fun.
