Doesnt really make you wonder about all the seemingly fantastic field service experiences. Or wartime escape experiences. I recall having the hair on the back of my neck stand on end when I heard them. But wasn't it always, "this happened to a friend in another congregation, i can't recall any names or dates". Or it always happens in some other country. I seem to recall a part on the elders school about making sure of your source before retelling some field service account. Then "the boys" would behave for a few months then back to any witness positive story or demon fear inspiring account is told from the platform. How about this. Find some nice looking gal with big enough gall.(may have to pay her a few bucks) Have her tell everyone she is from some cong far away. During the announcements hopefully they are shy a few minutes and ask for experiences. Have this gal raise her hand and start her experience by saying "this one time at band camp...............................

I heard the one about the two big guys behind the sister at a circuit assembly about 15 years ago !!! We also had Smurf fear running rampant in our cong. Anyone who watched the Smurfs or owned any Smurf stuff was viewed as very weak. I seem to remember legends about studies trying to burn their ouija boards and whatnot. They wouldnt burn or if they did then it screamed and smoldered for hours. And NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a bible at a tagsale. You never know if a voodoo priestess owned it and cast spells or eminated some other evil with a bible produced by someone other than the wtbts.
we find god's name "jehovah" so many times in the old testament, but not at all in the new testament.
jesus is called a "mighty god" in the bible.

Not really a particular verse but here goes. What about the teaching that at armageddon they say that all but JWs will die, young and old yadda yadda yadda....dead forever. But someone today....lives to be say 90 years old..and just say they came into the "truth" at 85. They had 85 YEARS TO CHANGE AND BECOME A JW. Meanwhile a 5 year old dies because mommy and daddy arent JW's. Or say a 20 year old..dies at armageddon but they only had 20 years to change whereas the begining example had 85 years. Or this.....an 85 year old dies a day before the great tribulation (can be resurected etc.)starts another 85 year old lives a day later and dies forever ? Is this making sense or am I babbling on ?

Oh man Sphere, that musta been embarassing. I remember finding out my fly was down probably for the entire WT. I was the conductor... thank goodness for the center section of the platform. I remember once in FS, I was with a younger brother and girl about 19 comes to the door in panties and a tight above the belly button t-shirt. We both tried to keep looking down on our bibles...but she kept awnsering and commenting on the presentation. We both left...red as beets.

One time I went to a door and a fella comes to the door and says he is not interested. Well, the C/O had just pounded into our heads that someone saying " I am not interested" is not a rejection but a challenge. So I gave the KM instructed " are you not interested in religion or not interested in the bible?". The fella said "wait just a sec". He comes back with a handgun and points it at me and says "I AM NOT INTERESTED, GET IT ?" I said "YUP, have a nice day". Another time I was out in service doing RV's. At one RV I was talking at the door about something...meanwhile someone had cut the screen in their den and stole their 27" color tv. The next time I came back the householder thought I was part of some scheme to keep her talking at the door while a partner broke in robbed them. No amount of talking could convince her otherwise.

i grew up in ct, son of an elder, turned into pioneer, married early...etc....etc....all the while ignoring the wrong feeling in my stomach....finally my wife (now ex, but we are still really close friends) and i realized and got out, and took a bunch of friends with us.

I was doing a favor for a sister in my cong. She is one of the "annointed". While working on her car a pile of lottery tickets fell down from on top of the sun visor. She said they were all from the previous owner. Well....2 things....one : the former owner was a witness Two : the tickets were all less than 3 months old and she owned the car for over a year.
